Test the battery voltage at rest and starting? As Nick mentions - Lithium's don't like the cold, but even with a new battery it is maybe not putting out enough power. A friend had 2 new ones of a good make but had problems with both being under voltage. I can't think of anything else...

Yes - I've seen similar. The hyper flasher isn't a relay, it is controlled by the ECU. If it senses a bulb blown (or low current LED in place of bulb) it will flash quickly, as you say, to alert you. You would need to fit a resistor in parallel with each LED indicator. 15 ohm would take 9.6W...

Is that the Eldor number? 38010144B? That looks like a Beru number. Maybe the other/ newer Ducati coil?? I believe the Eldor are 857501 (Eldor78430002) If the existing coils are Beru 38010145B then Eldor 857501 should replace them ok. But I don't have the 939 so cannot guarantee anything...
