Ducati Hypermotard 821 clutch fix - the definitive guide

Tolerable? No, terrible Nick! I put up with it long enough but was always a worry to launch/ squirt out into a gap in traffic. (Finally fitted your Eldor's too! Just catching up on my winter (2021) jobso_O)

Installing Aprilia (Eldor) Coil Packs on Hypermotard/Hyperstrada

The Eldor coil looks longer than the Beru, but it is only the rubber sleeve which fits further down the spark plug, that is longer. When fitted they look the same.

Ducati Hypermotard 821 clutch fix - the definitive guide

Seems more questions than answers lately, I think some of the old guru's have moved on. Have just done mine this weekend with the Valtermoto kit I'd had for some time. I will add a note that seems overlooked. First thing to check when the clutch is disassembled- Make sure the beleville spring/...

What have you done to your Hypermotard 698 today?

We all know you're going to get one sooner or later, Nick😂 Maybe Aprilia will tune one down for you and slot it into a Pegaso or a Moto 6.5 (6.98) . . .

Using Multistrada Panniers on the Hyperstrada

I would guess not, but I'm not sure of all the Multistrada models and fitment. The one's I've seen all looked different. Congratulations on your new purchase! Has your Hyper still got the 3 bobbins pannier mountings on? -A

What have you done to your Hypermotard 698 today?

Wow. If you go steady with the right hand, you might get it down to only 5 sets of tyres between oil changes. (But, Kudos - scrubbing a tyre off in 2600k, sounds like gnarly fun :D )

Ducati announces new Hypermotard 698 Mono

From seeing other Ducati OM's, I was fully expecting - "Have the chain tension adjusted by a Ducati Dealer or authorised Service Centre." But it's the first time I've seen - "Have drive chain cleaned by a Ducati Dealer or authorised Service Centre" The next new model OM may say; "Can only be...

Hyperstrada/Hypermotard 821 Carmo "Christmas Tree Dash" Repair Experience

Do mention to the dealer that it is a 'well known issue' That other owners have had 'good-will' repairs made, long out of warranty. (Somewhere on this site is a post about that) Some have paid for labour but not parts cost. That failures have happened even when the filter is fitted. A little...

Front fork pinch bolts torque settings

From the w/shop manual - Axle Grease thread and underside of the locking nut (3) and then screw it on. Tighten nut (4) to a torque of 63 Nm ± 5%. Calipers Tighten the two screws (2) securing brake callipers (1). Operate the front brake lever two or three times. Hold the lever pulled towards the...

Safely propping up my Hyperstrada without Paddock Stand

Yes Al. Not a problem. Put it on the centre stand, put a block of wood under the front cylinder head (not the cover - although there's not much weight on it) Jack it up on that. Lift the front wheel and give it a shake - it should be quite stable at that - well balanced and not much effort to...

Pirelli or Metzeler Tires for Hyperstrada 821

My Roadtec's (Z8 not 01) have just come to end-of-life. They were on the bike when I bought it so not sure how old they were - I got about 3.5k miles from what was left of them. No complaints with them, but I can't compare them to any other brand. They feel sure-footed and stable even though...

Y I'm holding out for the Ducati V21L Moto-E reaching the streets. :)

Ducati Hypermotard 698 Mono comes with Lithium-Ion Battery

The DesertX has a Lithium-ion battery as standard too. Perhaps Ducati are moving that way for all. It saves a few grams, but means you can't use a standard charger.

Safely propping up my Hyperstrada without Paddock Stand

Hyper is due for a pair of new boots so I will take the wheels off and to the bike shop. Does anyone have any tips for safely propping the bike up on centrestand with both wheels off? I don't have a paddock stand but have assorted blocks, jacks, and a beam in the garage I could stabilise...

Ducati announces new Hypermotard 698 Mono

:D Clearly wifie doesn't appreciate what a milestone engine this is and how your collection is incomplete without it! It does look more of a 'hooligan screamer' though, as you say. I don't think it will convert to Strada like the twins.
