    698 won't shift lower than 4th

Even under warranty, it sounds like a huge relief that they didn't need to split the case. Shop report indicates the highlighted part below. If there's been two on the forum there's surely been (and will be) more of them **** the bed. Let's hope they come up with an improved design/material for...

What have you done to your Hypermotard 698 today?

Installed Evotech shorty levers yesterday. Quality is great but I think the design could improve. Wish they came with a full round profile on the front side, like stock levers, rather than a flat blade with rounded edges on top and bottom. Also wish the ball end of the lever was slightly...

Build Quality Review: 300 miles on 2024 Hypermotard 698 Mono

I don't have that plug, but my tank still pressurizes on a hot day. I thought the plug was the crimped rubber thingy, just beside the white plug.

    A worrying trend?

Worrying? Heck, that sounds like a buying opportunity for connoisseurs and the curious. I had some early regrets but I continue to warm up to the bike. I immediately fell in love with the front brake and handling, but the character of the throttle & motor was another thing. Addition of the...

    14 teeth front sprocket

Be aware of the following notes from pgs. 179-180 of the manual: Attention - Changing the final drive ratio is only allowed for circuit (racetrack) use of the motorcycle, not on public roads. Attention - In the event of front sprocket and/or rear sprocket replacement, after performing the...

    What other exhausts ?

...and, yeah, a proper map should make a huge difference.

    What other exhausts ?

I'm not aware of any tuning options apart from the Termi kit. Here's a few exhausts. https://shop.sc-project.com/en/brands/ducati/hypermotard-698-mono-2024 https://www.austinracing.com/162-2024-hypermotard-698-mono https://shift-tech-carbon.com/collections/hypermotard-698-mono...

    Termi exhaust

20 km/h ... really? Without the Termi, I'm pretty sure the RPMs are low enough that it can just barely chug along at 20 km/h in first gear.

    Daily commuter

My inner thigh (exhaust side) has gotten hot enough to make me drive on the shoulder, past angry cagers. If your stuck in traffic long enough, the entire bike will begin to heat up and re-radiate, and the various plastics and/or powdercoat will begin to smell. I do wonder whether the engine's...

    Yellowjackets / wasps

My 698 standard seems to be a bloody yellowjacket magnet in Ducati red. Anybody else dealing with this issue? How about in RVE livery? Stopped at the grocer to get a loaf of bread today and came out to a dozen agitated yellowjackets. Think I might need to get a wrap.

    698 won't shift lower than 4th

Comfy seat? Do you have a source? My ass can't take more than two one-hour trips in a day. Seat concepts only has DesertX and (older) scramblers covered at this point.

    Daily commuter

I'm sure it runs cooler than a v4 but the bike will get uncomfortably hot in gridlock. Highway cruising engine temp floats around 75 C (165 F) with air temp around 25-30 C (78-85 F), but it quickly ramps to 105 C (220 F) and the fan comes on when stuck at a long red light.

Passenger Footpegs on the Ducati Hypermotard 698 Mono

Lol, good thing your dealer found the box. Checking pages 150 & 151 of the spare parts catalog, that assembly has no fewer than 11 items (24 parts) and a 5mm allen wrench. https://www.ducati.com/us/en/service-maintenance/spare-parts-catalogs item p/n description qty 1 46510601A REAR RIGHT...

What have you done to your Hypermotard 698 today?

The dealer installed my quick shifter today. Very nice. Feels like a completely different bike. Still getting a feel for it. Had a couple of massive exhaust dets while shifting up to 6th with the throttle pinned. ECU got comically confused when a downshift from 2nd ended up stopping at neutral.

    698 won't shift lower than 4th

Damn ... will be interesting to learn what the hell happened, and how Ducati handles it. I'd like to change my rear sprocket but the manual includes this nonsense:

What have you done to your Hypermotard 698 today?

Swapped in a set of stealth mirrors today. Nice 3D prints, and my arms are no longer blocking the rear view. Will give them an urban/highway/rural workout tomorrow. They look about 50% bigger than doubletake trail mirrors, but those don't mount in a useful fashion on the 698.

    Reluctant starts

I been burping the tank before every ride. Lots o' venting and fumes but no problems with starting anymore. If this is the fix then I'm thinking Ducati can probably remedy with a minor firmware update; I suspect they may be cycling the injector on boot.

    Tapered handlebar size?

Calipers indicate 1-1/8" but they still look thinner than that to me. Thanks.

    Tapered handlebar size?

Can anyone get me the OD measure for the 698’s tapered handlebars, in the center portion at the fork clamps? Need to know if the 22/32mm range of peak design’s new bar mount kickstarter for phones is compatible. I’m currently away from the bike but recall the bars seemed pretty thin. The...
