    Performance upgrades for Hyperstrada 821

Dealer may or may not do this for you depending on local laws. I haven't installed teh velocity stacks but that's just a matter of getting the bike apart far enough to get the airbox out. UpMap by termignoni sells you a device that plugs into your bikes ECU and flashes a map via a connected app...

Joining the Hyper Club on Friday

Some depend on the year, bikes pre 2015 had a grabby clutch which can be resolved by swapping out the clutch pack. Many, but not all 821s have a weak starter. It has burned out for a handful of folks, for others is just means it's a little harder to start when warm. Canbus filters are an...

    Another Exhaust Flapper/Servo Thread

It's closed under 3k or so I believe and opens above that. I think deleting is by itself won't confer any benefits save for sound, but deleting it as part of tune, assuming the tune accounts for the reduced back pressure at those lower revs, ought to do fine. Removing the entire system when...

    Removing Factory Handlebar Spacers

I always looked at putting English on it as a a finesse move, so I'd consider it complimentary.

    Another Exhaust Flapper/Servo Thread

Interesting. I wonder if I'm going to run into this, the tune I have disables the servo, and I've heard if it's not in use / moving it'll eventually seize. No CEL light as of yet and it's been disabled for almost a year now.

"Error" and all dash lights flashing, Fan Turns on, No Start...

Glad to hear Ducati handled it in this case!

    Adventures in Hypermotard Tuning...

I wasn't aware they'd custom make a tune on the T800, when I got mine I told them the slip on I had and they advised on the closest available tune to download, which was a a tune for Starace's airbox with the stock pipe. Funny enough I've put the stock pipe on recently due to some issues with...

Throttle grip movement not smooth -stick/slips (Heated grips)

Not sure of the answer, I've had heated grips for a just about a year on my bike and have no real issues yet. I do notice that if I let go of the barrel it will snap closed except for the last little bit or rotation. Never a problem when riding so I've not really worried about it but I check it...

    Front fender extender….

Sounds like you just need a dual-sport for the bad weather and can keep the Hyper shiny for the good days. Dual-sports look their best with a coat of dirt on them anyway :-D

Lost vertical cylinder cam timing somehow.... :(

A 2014 will definitely have some updates due from Ducati. I've burned out an O2 sensor or two between the two hyper's I've had, it's too bad the dash isn't capable of giving more information for things like this which should be a simple fix.

    Rear Suspension Swap

It's pretty well sorted at the moment for my purposes, of course now that I've got 25k on the bike it's time to start working on some maintenance items. First thing up is to service the fork and shock as I am sure the stock fluids are toast by now.

    Scammer alert!

Got the same, poor attempt by this scammer, if they'd sent bike porn they might have tricked me.

    Rear Suspension Swap

Rear stock shock has rebound adjustment I think. That plus pre-load was actually enough (ala Dave Moss) to make the bike feel very planted. I think Dave also moved the front forks, though I can't recall if he raised or lowered them a few MM. Bike was great until I started out riding the fork...

    Left boot horror

I'd guess center stand? I have BIG feet (size 13) and haven't had any unusual wear issues. Only difference between our bikes is the Motard doesn't have a centerstand. Looking at your pic, I could see my heel rubbing on the foot from that stand if I was getting after it.

    Heated grips

Start it and press the starter again, if you get a menu option for the grips then they are installed. You can also check the grips themselves, headed grips are have a hard plastic ridge in the inside with a recessed screw that holds them in place.

    Ok, so round 2…..

939 has the same fueling quirks, clutch is fine, though a bit grabby when cold. I'd go with the 950, motor is supposed to be better and the electronics are done by Bosch instead of Magneti Marelli.

    Canister Removal DIY

Before I removed mine, the only issue I'd notice was once of twice when I tried to maximize the amount of gas in my tank resulting in an overfill. Bike would start a little harder and engine braking would be greatly reduced as the fumes would be pulled into the motor even when the throttle was...

    Stalling issue

Hmm with low miles like that could be something else. I'd have the dealer take a look.
