Sounds like you just need a dual-sport for the bad weather and can keep the Hyper shiny for the good days. Dual-sports look their best with a coat of dirt on them anyway :-D

A 2014 will definitely have some updates due from Ducati. I've burned out an O2 sensor or two between the two hyper's I've had, it's too bad the dash isn't capable of giving more information for things like this which should be a simple fix.

I'd guess center stand? I have BIG feet (size 13) and haven't had any unusual wear issues. Only difference between our bikes is the Motard doesn't have a centerstand. Looking at your pic, I could see my heel rubbing on the foot from that stand if I was getting after it.
