I guess I should look at the manual, I've been removing the front part of the beak by itself and was not aware that the whole assembly could be removed to access the headlight itself.

Also, I should note I don't see K&N as a good upgrade for these bikes as the filter doesn't work well if not properly oiled which requires that you are accessing the airbox to oil it pretty frequently. Too much oil can also cause issues with sensors. Sprinter filters seem to be a better option...

Starting issues when warm are more likely to be an issue with the starter itself as it's not great on any of these bikes and is known to fail on 2015 and earlier models. I'm sure the filter being out of place didn't help however.

Also, I have a headlight housing with intact internals (both mount points are broken off for the two top bolts however). If you have any interest in taking the time to get it apart and remove the internal bits I'm happy to figure out how to ship it to you.

I think the newer model just powers more diodes for the high beam. I'm going to try aiming and shiming to see if I can at least get it out of drivers eyes at which point it'll be good enough, or as good as it gets for the hyper headlight anyway.

You can wire it, someone on here figured out (for me) how to wire up a monster 821 sensor as well. There are also cheap ones on eBay (presumably from China) that appear to work fine.

Good info! How loud was the noise? If I ride without my earplugs I can notice a subtle whine from the bike. Belts where done maybe 4k ago. Could just be normal as I tend to worry about every little thing for nothing :-D

Naw I got a stock header, I would like to get ti headers, but I want a set that mates up with my low mount which doesn't appear to exist.

My problem was never with the throttle response (though sport is a little snappy on rough roads), it was more the rough and stumble power delivery down low. While not perfect, getting a better airbox lid / filter (Star.ace) and pairing it with a map from the Termignoni T800 smoothed things out...

Hmm, well that MAY explain why I have to be a little cautious with it (it's nearly wobbled off the pin before, when I was letting it run in first, a no-no anyway). For standard stuff however it's fine, I've replaced the chain and sprockets, done plenty of chain maintenance and left it stored up...

Same pin works for both sides, at least is does on my hyper.

As far as I know it will plug in, but the mapping isn't the same. You could email Rapid Bike support to be sure.

Edit, never mind, I was hoping only the collector was different but it looks like the front and rear header differ from stock due to being a high mount.

To be fair I have heard nothing but good things about the 950 motor. Between that and the move to Bosch for the electronics package the 950 Hyper SP is a tempting bike. Luckily Munroe doesn't do test rides so there is no chance I'll ever find out what I am missing :-D
