Rear wheel removal is just the one nut, nothing else gets disturbed. I was able to apply the correct torque by just having my foot on the rear brake with the bike on the center stand. There are two published torque settings, the lower one is the one you need. I can see big problems trying to...

Just the rear. The 998 front has a 6-bolt hub so it won't bolt on, and I haven't even considered the rotor offset.

Are you referring to #9? Don't they mount to the rod that goes through the swingarm, so how would removing them cause misalignment?

Also, this would give an indication of how much work it would be to refit the 821/939 dash before investing in the rest of the beak. Plus you could go aftermarket carbon if desired.

950 part #7 (48019501A) is the only one you really need to see if it will mount to the 821/939, and a used one sold on EBAY for about $50...
