Installing Aprilia (Eldor) Coil Packs on Hypermotard/Hyperstrada

From your original post, it sounded like you needed to add length to the vertical piston wire? So the long one is still too short?

Installing Aprilia (Eldor) Coil Packs on Hypermotard/Hyperstrada

This may be a dumb question, but if Ducati used Eldor coils on older models (such as the 848), would a set from one of those bikes be more of a plug and play solution?

Installing Aprilia (Eldor) Coil Packs on Hypermotard/Hyperstrada

Is this because you used the coil with the short wire on the vertical cylinder?

821 vs 939 spark plug change interval

As far as I can tell, both models use the same spark plugs, so why does the maintenance guide specifically call out the 821 needing to be changed twice as often (every 15k vs 30k)...

    A little winter project inspiration.....

Looks like the same bike as 0:35. Interesting use of the rear fender as a front fairing.

    Seized vertical intake cam.

Since my first Ducati in 2000, I’ve always checked the strainer at every oil change, and that was back when the recommended intervals were much more often. It only takes a couple more minutes while you’re in there. It’s crazy enough that Ducati now recommends the oil changes at 15000 kms, but to...

    Seized vertical intake cam.

Damn, that sucks. I’m assuming you weren’t running it with the oil pressure light on? In which case you need to figure out why you had oil pressure at the sensor but not at the head.

    Ducabike rearsets installation manual?

Anyone have a manual they can share, or tips on putting them together? I can probably figure out most of it just from pictures, but I heard that some of the spacers need to machined for a Hyperstrada (this set came off a Hypermotard)? I just picked up a used set that was completely disassembled...

    Monster to Hyperstrada

My other Ducati is a 998. I did notice the loss in raw torque, which is made up on the 821 HS by using extreme gearing (my 998 is 15/36 while the 821 HS is 15/45), so you need to be mindful about being in the right gear to avoid bogging. The flip side is that you get to wring out the motor and...

    Monster to Hyperstrada

The 939 still has belt driven cams. As does the 950.

    Hyperstrada OEM handlebar specs

Anyone know the specs so I can order one from Pro Taper or one of the other bar manufacturers? I find it so comfortable that I'm thinking if putting one on one of my other bikes. Haven't bothered to price one from Ducati on the assumption it would be overpriced.

    Seized vertical intake cam.

I'm no engineer or mechanic, but could over-tightened belts have caused this? The damage seems to be near the outboard edge of the journal.

    SKF fork seal part numbers?

Be careful when you order. Looks like those are the "M" kits for Marzochi forks.

Washing the panniers / side bags

Any particular tips for cleaning the bags after collecting massive bug splatter all over the front of them? Like soak them in a tub, or just spray them down mounted on the bike? Not sure how durable the fabric is to scrubbing.

    Center stand off

So no issues with stock rearsets and pegs on trackdays on a low model? Mind if I ask if you're less than 155 lbs without gear? I'm always worried about leaning too much for fear of grinding something on my low 2015 because of the postings from others on low models trying to raise the ride...

Still having surging issues after looking at everything else? Check your battery!

On the other hand, what doesn't make sense is that once the engine is running, shouldn't you be able to theoretically disconnect the battery completely and run off the alternator?

Still having surging issues after looking at everything else? Check your battery!

My bike was riding great in the spring at an ambient temperature below 10 degrees Celsius. As the weather warmed up, I started to notice slight surging at low speeds with constant idle. I figured this was what everyone was complaining about, and that the warmer temps were a factor. Switching to...

    She done died...

The front is definitely accessible, but I don't know about the rear. Looks like it's zip-tied to the frame cross-beam under the seat, and covered by the bottom of the rear of the tank/pump outlet. Do I need to remove the tank to get to it, or is there an easier way?

    Adventures in Hypermotard Tuning...

It could be, but if it is, I have to bring it to the dealer to diagnose, then wait for the throttle to arrive and then bring it back for them to install. I'd like to do a quick diagnosis on my own by disconnecting the O2 sensors and see if there's an improvement, which would rule out the...

    Adventures in Hypermotard Tuning...

I should add that it was not fun to have this happen on the highway with no safe spots to pull over onto.
