I've had this same kind of bend on mine. As said, it is aluminum and just trying to straightening will likely break it. The one thing I found, after replacing the entire pedal with an original part ($160 or so) is that the tip rotates, which means that, if it doesn't bother you how it looks...

I'll second this. After spending hours trying to get the tank to lift from the back like it's supposed to do, I ended up removing the front mounts and got the tank out in 5 minutes. Then I spent a couple of hours kicking myself for not thinking of doing that before.

I haven't removed them, but if it's glue holding them together, heating it up will likely break the bind.

I stand corrected. The good thing is that it's easy to remove it and see if it helps, and to put it back on if it doesn't and you want it back.

I don't know... I've had plenty of problems with the charcoal canister but stalling while decelerating was not one of them.

I switched the stock tires to Metzeler Roadtec 01 and I was shocked by how much grip I had. As I was going through a very familiar twisty road with the Roadtec now installed, I was wondering if I was going way under the speed limit because of how controlled the bike was compared to the Scorpions...

Ditto on the Roadtec 01. It's a huge upgrade from stock tires, to the point where I initially wondered, while on mountain roads, if I was going under the speed limit... I was not, the tires are that good. No word from me on tread life but a few people have reported good mileage.

I tried to do the replacement but couldn't even break the seal of the clutch cover. Would anyone be kind to post a picture of the tool used to do so? I'm thinking I just need the proper tool and see how to use it.

Sounds like you're better off selling the V-Star independently and finding a lightly used NC700X. If you've found that the Honda works for her, keep looking for one in other places.

I agree, I'd rather have a sample picture, the way thePunisher suggests. My bike is out of commission waiting for the clutch upgrade to be done. Anyone care to start it with a picture of the bike next to a clown? Too much talking and too few pictures.
