    Rapidbike and engine light

Who knows what happened to the tune I had on there since the previous owner reset it. It was running beautifully when I had it.

From low to high rear suspension - how?

You simply need a longer shock. It is possible the 'low' shock is a regular shock with an internal spacer to reduce the length. A suspension shop could determine this rather easily by taking it apart. Or, buy one on ebay.

I prefer the "Urban" map on my 821. Should I get an SV650? V-Strom 650XT?

I'm not sure the SV/VStrom motor has enough character to be fun. It's a great motor functionality wise but doesn't have that bark to make it exciting at lower speeds. It has to be wound out to make it fun, and you'll find yourself going just as fast (or faster) than the Hyper because it's easier...

    Hazy/ Crazed Dash Repair

I believe it's just a plastic with texture. I would try some plastx or clear plastic cleaner by meguiars (not the plastic polish).

Likely loose ground - what do I check

There are some ground terminals on the engine in 2 spots I believe, plus the battery terminals. Your neutral switch is another separate terminal which can come loose. I recall it's a spade terminal located on the rear of the engine.

    Tire Tread Issue?

It is visible on some tires and not on others, depending on the compound and design.

    Tire Tread Issue?

That is called the static strip, it is a material that prevents the buildup of static electricity as you ride. "Static electricity build-up is an old concern that has returned to haunt modern tires. An inadequately grounded vehicle is an issue during refueling and when occupants slide out of...

No better with Rapid Bike EVO

Yea that throttle shouldn't have any slop. In fact I've heard that complaint that it has no slop therefore is not 'normal' like a cable throttle.

No better with Rapid Bike EVO

No my stock one was further up and to the left. I believe in later years they ended up moving the O2 to exactly where I put mine.

No better with Rapid Bike EVO

If you're willing to put the time it, it will be loads better. Just make sure you have realistic expectations going in :) For wideband logging you'd need to drill and weld O2 bungs to the header pipes ~8" from the port. Also tap into the wiring harness for RPM and TPS voltages, and run the...

Haha, I think you're right! Glad it worked for you.

No better with Rapid Bike EVO

I went with the BMW S1000XR. Solid machine. Quite a bit heavier, tougher to muscle around the tight stuff, but better for riding I do.

No better with Rapid Bike EVO

You will never get it to run as smooth as your CB500X. That's a docile beginner bike with cable actuated throttle and 10.7:1 compression, 50hp, and a heavy flywheel. The Hyper is an insane free-revving thing with electronic throttle and 12.8:1 compression and 110hp. Also, one's a Honda and one's...

I cannot find that file. I have the table from my excel though.

    Howdy from northern California

Yeah, the '16 should have the new clutch design.

    Howdy from northern California

Look into a tune, or just unplug the O2 sensors if you can tolerate the light. Clutch judder spring will smooth out the grabby clutch - available on ebay.

Little bit of Zinc plating during lockdown

I ought to give that a try!!! My plated parts seem to be holding up alright but I bet they could stay shinier with that conversion coating.

Little bit of Zinc plating during lockdown

Good tip - where do you get that? Is it just a chemical you can dip it in for some amount of time? Having a hard time finding it online, maybe not using the right terms.

Little bit of Zinc plating during lockdown

I have kept the same setup in 5 gallon buckets for about a year, no intention of dumping it. When the time comes, I think a few cups of baking soda to neutralize it and dump it down the drain.
