    Sport Touring Advice

Yup - I got a $30 small one from ebay or amazon, and the hardware is good - holds a setting and easy to adjust. Feathers the air nicely, if that makes sense. I have it adjusted low and parallel with my MRA screen and the air is clean - minimal to no buffeting. Just came back from 4 days on...

    She done died...

The front fuse panel 10amp fuse is the lights fuse (or the instrument panel - but that's ok right?). The wiring from the tail light is fairly easy to trace - -can't remember but it runs through a grommet I think - I'd check that. The wiring runs to the left side of the rear compartment under...

    She done died...

Unless you're talking about the license plate light, I think the brake/tail lights are all led - 6 each.

    Battery question

..and yes - the fuel pump is sort of under the seat - it's in the part of the gas tank that extends under the seat.

    Battery question

If you're nervous get a jumper pack - they're cheap and nice insurance. I don't think you can bump start these bikes. May be the battery - May be that valves need adjusting. If it just started to happen after belt replacement - might be something related to that. Though the battery is...

    Indian FTR 1200

Yeh, in general it's so hard to get test rides - kind of crazy to have to buy a bike by guesswork.

    Indian FTR 1200

The hyperstrada is fantastic at being a hyperstrada, and I hope the Indian is the best ftr1200 it can be.

    Indian FTR 1200

If everyone listened to anecdotal evidence and opinions no one would ever buy a bike.

    Headlight bulb issue

Actually scotch that reply. I can't really tell what's going on - did you remove the driver? Is that 3 prong female plugged into another connector? I can't tell from the pics, but if there is a cable attached to the bulb, where does it terminate. Sorry not being helpful - usually these...

    Headlight bulb issue

Led bulbs have 2 parts - the bulb and base -which I see - and the driver. The driver is a black box. The driver cable runs from the bulb to the standard 3 prong plug and plugs into that plug. The pics look like this is a messy install, but I'm thinking you should be able to unplug the...

    Emergency on the road question....

Also , is the overflow hose connected right below the radiator cap?

    Emergency on the road question....

Someone can double check me here but 230F doesn't seem too far off. Do you know where the coolant is spitting out from. Make sure all the hose clamps are tight. The coolant overflow hose is on the left I believe. Check the overflow bottle and see if it's full. Maybe there's air in the...

    9k service question

I wonder why the belt interval was changed? Regardless, in my experience neither the plugs or the filter needed a change (although there was a bee in the filter housing), but easy enough to check. I'd still do the belts - the thing has been sitting around for a while and 5 years is almost up.

    Shifter toe peg?!?

I put on woodcraft foldable toe pegs. All you have to do is cut that nub off, drill a hole through the remaining "riveted" aluminum, and bolt on the woodcraft. You will need a slightly longer bolt. The metal is soft so cutting filing and driling is pretty much a cinch - I did remove the lever...

    Missing Front wheel Spacer?

Yes I did LOL. The idea of the captive side turned on a lightbulb. The manual has no such reference. Right after watching Moss, I went out and used his method and it really helped.

    Missing Front wheel Spacer?

After you get the wheel on, tighten the nut to spec, and then the two axle bolts on the nut side. Press down hard on the front end a few times without the brakes on, and then tighten the other 2 axle bolts. Wheel aligned.
