What'd you do to your Hyperstrada today?

I'd expect the wind pressure to reduce the weight on the wrists at highway speeds. In fact higher bars would make you hang on more tightly. He is not planning any long distance tours on it, either. My friend did mention that it steered more slowly, but I'm sure that raising the rear and...

    Adjustable foot pegs?

I don't see any extra mounting positions, only with or without the rubber insert. That's a lot of money for something that looks pretty much the same as stock. Those offset pegs at slingshot are listed as passenger pegs, since they would make it tough to reach the shift and brake levers!

2016 Hypermotard convert to Hyperstrada or other way round?

I wear a 36 inch inseam on a bike as a 34 pulls up too far with my legs bent. I can flat foot my Strada with some bend in the knees. It has plenty of legroom, too. The "low" version of the Strada - which would be any 2015 - is 20mm lower than the standard Hyper. If I were as short as you...

2016 Hypermotard convert to Hyperstrada or other way round?

A well-respected local Ducati dealer told me that the Marzocchis on the SP are "rubbish." YMMV. What I don't like about it is the 35" seat height, too tall even for my long legs and hardly needed on the street.

    Flushing the front brakes

    Thanks!

    Flushing the front brakes

I'm about to flush the front brakes, can you post a link to where you found those speed bleeders? The company's website does not list our 821s.

Hypermotard/Hyperstrada MRA Double Bubble Windscreen Mini Review

I finally got a chance to get out on a ride with the MRA shield. It does protect the upper torso well, but it leaves my head out in the wind. There is a lot more wind noise, not sure if I will keep it. Also, it shakes around a bit as it is a lot heavier with the mounting brackets. I might...

What'd you do to your Hyperstrada today?

It has a plastic fuel tank, a known problem that has plagued Ducati for a while. I'm investigating a local guy who will coat it so that it stops swelling from the ethanol. Had two trusted sources recommend him. I suspect that they will come up with a new model of this type of bike. My buddy...

What'd you do to your Hyperstrada today?

almost bought a Hyper A couple of days ago my riding buddy and I checked out a 2013 Hyper SP for him. The seller turned out to be a flake, so he ended up with one of these.

Hypermotard/Hyperstrada MRA Double Bubble Windscreen Mini Review

Yamahas use LH threading on the right side, too. Might find something from one of those.

    The Suspension Thread!!! BOOING

I hope they are worth more than double what the Andreanis cost...not to me, though. This is not a race bike, it's our sport tourer.

2016 Hypermotard convert to Hyperstrada or other way round?

You can get taller with just a spring and preload change. Mine does not drag anything but the edges of the centerstand. But I am fairly light weight at 75-ish kg in gear, and wifey is ten kg lighter. I run the rear preload at max two-up, and near minimum when solo. Seems to work well for me...

2016 Hypermotard convert to Hyperstrada or other way round?

The Strada has a lot of things that neither model of Hypermotard offer. They include: Rear rack/grab rail Centerstand Hydraulic preload adjustment on the rear shock Saddlebags More front fender Electrical outlets for GPS, heated gear Better seat (IMHO) Bigger windshield The SP is a...

Hypermotard/Hyperstrada MRA Double Bubble Windscreen Mini Review

I'm also interested in the Z1000 mirrors...did the ones you bought have convex glass, or flat? I would really prefer convex.

    enduro tires

On pavement, those semi-knobbies do not offer anywhere near the grip of decent road rubber. YMMV, but to me there is nothing more important at all times than grip!

    The Suspension Thread!!! BOOING

I've just ordered a set of Andreanis for our 390 Duke. I live very close to Racetech, so it's easy to take them in for the swap. They quoted me $165, but there will be no machine work needed. I'm going to point out again that the biggest problem with the stock forks on my Strada was the...

    650 mile weekend + CA Hwy 36

+1 on the 'Stich, our Dakar suits have never leaked. I've had a couple of fun rides down 36, it is as good as you describe. Of course it was twistier 20 years ago, as Caltrans seems to straighten out our favorite roads way too often. I would keep an eye out for cattle and deer, though! A bit...

"Error" and all dash lights flashing, Fan Turns on, No Start...

"Ducati specific?" You must be kidding, it's just a battery. I've been using Shorais for 4+ years, with not one failure or "out of juice" incident. I've run them on six different bikes plus a smaller Ballistic 4-cell on our 1956 Velocette, to fit it in a dummy case. But I don't run any heated...
