its was brilliant, couldn't get it over as far as i'd like to, as it was grinding the brake and gear levers, but the punch coming out of the corners was great and the traction control was keeping the rear under control. I'm looking at adjusting them higher and rearsets for the footpegs as the right one touched down too. the only bikes that had me on the day, where two racing super hypermotards and a superports bike with a guy who knew how to ride.

Sweet. Guess I'm still a little nervous about wadding up my preferred daily driver on the track. That, and the cost of a set of leathers that I won't be able to hide from the wife.

I'm surprised that even the Motards don't have tip over feelers on the pedals. How much stuff did you remove?

only removed the center stand and jacked up rear pre-load.
Don't forget mine is the 'low version'. I'd like to take a new SP or hypermotard round the track, they have got much more ground clearance.

Glad you had fun, i reckon the Hyper on a fairly short circuits will be amazing. I need to do a track day this year too its been too long since i did one.

where abouts you in the uk??
I'm planning on doing Anglesy this year, Oulton Park, possibly Cadwell again and deffo three sisters as its only a £10 a session, 1st Tues of every month:D

Awesome! Can't wait to take mine, I did scrape my boots a couple of times in some twisties down here.

Wow, less than $17 per session? How long are they? How many in a day? Sounds as if it 'almost' makes up for all the gatsos and banning on the road.

Our local track days are roughly $250/day, and you get a session every hour for about six total. They still sell out.

All the money goes to charity, ten laps a session which believe me is enough, I did two this time round on the hyper and three last Oct on the vfr400. the track opens about 3pm and closes just before sundown, you can do as many sesions as you can get in, just have to wait in line as they only let 6 on the track at a time. So all depends on how busy it gets.

found a better pic, grinding the toes and brake lever :D

Not trying to be rude, but it looks like you need to work on your body position a bit. Your butt is over a little bit, but your torso is still leaning in towards the center of the bike. If you hang off the bike a bit more, you can go around the turns with less lean, and not scrape so much.

no offence taken, but when its your new ducati and dont want to bin it, It's a bit difficult, trying not to push too hard, I save the hanging off and knee grinding for my trackbike:D

You don't have to hang too far, but if you at least get your torso where it should be in that turn, you could save a little bit on lean angle.

when I get I bit more track time and more confident on it, it'll come. weid feeling trying to hang off the Strada with its defined riding position. Never ridden a motard before this. But I know what your saying.
When I was grinding the toes or brake lever its a bit of a shock and you tend to sit up a bit when it happens, maybe the camera caught me doing that??

Could be possible. The first time I got a knee down at the track with a BMW S1000RR it was a bit of a shock. I don't want to wreck mine either, but I find myself almost riding as fast through the corners as I did with the 1100. I put just over 30,000 miles on it. Got it at 502 miles with woodcraft rearsets, and I look forward to what woodcraft brings for this bike.

WoW.... here in Spain, a track day at Jerez Circuit it´s about 120€ usually 6 or 7 sessions of 20 or 30 minutes. We thought it was expensive...

I think for most riders, hanging off of a motard-style bike is a waste of time. Given the lack of anchor points, you have to consider the potential to upset the bike by shifting your weight around, not to mention the difficulty in being consistent with your positioning without a big tank or knee cutouts. Additionally, without a fuel tank to brace against, setting up a hang-off position while braking from any real speed is pretty questionable. I'm just saying, be smooth and very careful if you're going to try it, and keep something in reserve pace-wise until you get a feel for how the bike reacts to moving around on it.

I've done trackdays on a Tuono, which is a bit like the Hyper in terms of bars and the upright riding position, and even with the cutouts on the tank, hanging off was pointless at the fast-end of intermediate (B) group. The pic below is mid-pack "A" group, and at my pace, there's not much need to monkey way off the bike, provided ground clearance is not an issue.
