I kinda new this was coming when they offered me a 2016 model with £1300 slashed off. But I don't care now. It's an extra 3 brake, nearly 11k and doesn't look so different. Be interesting to read the reviews though.

Yep....but it will be the touque that will change the bike over the 821, more than anything else....

I don't understand why they didn't just crack the 1000cc mark. Just under 1000 is just not as cool as at or above. Maybe it's more of an older I-4 attitude...

I'm honestly surprised that they haven't released a 1200 version of the motard based on the Monster engine.

Probably they feel that will get too close to Multistrada.

I don't think so. Early in the Hypermotard's life, it shared the same engine with both the Monster, and Multistrada(the clutch was different).

The Hypermotard and Monster have shared the 1100, 796, and now 821 engines.

I'll bet that the Monster will move to the 939 engine next year.

It would have made too much sense to use the same 1200 from the Monster in the Hypermotard.

Just shove the Diavel motor in it and have done. That's all KTM have done with their big bore motard.
