Well this is it.

My ride is in for it's 45000 kilometres (28000 miles) maintenance check a month before it's second anniversary. So I guess it's pretty good for a first bike. Tons of fun, plenty of goofs and learned a lot.

Now I wonder who much devaluation this mean on the bike. I don't think I'll sell the bike but I wonder if the value has gone to the bottom since I put quite a lot of mileage on it.

Impressive mileage, indeed.

Do you use your panniers when you travel, what do you like or dislike about them?

I had them on the bike almost everyday for the first 9 months until I realized they were turning purple. Now only for long trips since. Less than dozen times a year.

They can hold a lot 50 litres (good) and they're quite stylish. But the sun is fading their original black colour away. Hence they're turning purple.

I prefer to think of it as "patina" rather than purple!

I've used the paniers a lot and I think the first thing to go will be the zippers. Also, have never used the drybag liners cause they just take up too much space. I have some bag liners from my ST2 paniers that have carry handles, a couple of interior pockets and good quality zippers that fit the HS paniers that I use. They are made out some kind of heavy duty polyester fibre and seem to have kept their interiors dry while riding in the rain.

So what kind of odometer readings have others got on their bikes? New rider is 45000km +, I'm at 36,000+ on mine....

The only really "bad" thing that's happened to mine is the clutch cable failure last weekend. I think that's a pretty good record.

My experience after 15 years of Ducati ownership is that the more regularly the bike is ridden, the less problems i've had. The bike will have been sitting for about 11 days by the time I get the replacement clutch cable, it's longest riding season rest ever!

Same here though I'm expecting the bike back today. It's been almost two weeks but I've been lucky. The shop kindly provided loners to use.

Honda CBR650F,
Yamaha FJ-09,
Honda NC750F.
