I'm still on the fence about buying a lightly used '23 950 for CAD$13k. Initial owner traded up to an SP at the dealership. The bike has 2000 km now. The SP is obviously more appealing.
Consensus seems to be that the 950s are nice for hooning around, but not as flickable as the little 698. I'd love to have faster throttle response and more torque, but it goes if you can ride smooth and are ok with revving the **** off of it. I don't give a **** about going fast in a straight line, so I think the 698 is a good bet for me.
"Hypermotard King" on YT runs both, and yet chose to get another 698 after totaling his low time 698 RVE. Says a lot, I think.
