I am adding the strada features to an SP. I liked the Ohlins and race mode. Does the regular strada pop this much on deacceleration?? First was the seat... This bike is tall! Panniers, windscreen, and I also gave hippo hands a shot for the winter. They look goofy but worth the warmth. Thanks to fourm members @krolinked and @jjweb for the panniers and windscreen!

Also adding a top box (givi v47). I tried twice to order the givi kit which includes a plate and support bars for the strada (givi part number sra7403) from ebay, but both sellers returned my money after not being able to locate the "in stock" item. Shout out to capri motors and fast shipping from Italy who were able to deliver a full kit. The Givi kit is good quality, I did not have to modify anything and it was a simple install.

Updates: Windscreen and crash protection added. New Dunlop mutants. Was off road with it all weekend. Did well.

The screen has a lot do be desired. I wish it pushed more air over your face. Now that summer is here I may remove it for max airflow.

I added the Oxford sport grips with OEM connectors. The Oxford Tour grips are larger than the sport. Oxford may be thicker than OEM non heated grips but I actually like them. I never tried OEM heated grips. I also prefer summer gloves to winter gloves, as they are thinner and allow for more dexterity. For the price, its worth it. All this is for my hypermotard not hyperstrada

Behind the headlight and under the dash there are two wrapped bundles. One grip heater wire is in each bundle. Ducati had their style connector (455-1205-ND Socket) already plugged in to the hypermotard from the factory, their connector comes with a small pigtail shrink wrapped maybe 3-4". I unplugged their style connector (455-1205-ND Socket) removed the shrink wrap, cut off the factory oxford connector, and wired directly to the grip, then shrink wrapped. The grips operate off of resistance so any wire works... red to blue or black.. does not matter. No need to solder with good shrink wrap. It's also tucked up tightly and zip tied behind the dash. You will "enjoy" putting the head light back on with those stiff wires bundled together :) Three beer job.

I had the dealer activate (for free!) the ecu before the install. Also go ahead and wire the new grips and test them before removing the old grips.

These pages might help if you want to wire in grips, gps, or usb charger.

Also, I used a metal file to thin the outer ring on the plastic throttle tube under the grips. (throttle side only) for the oxford grip to slide on. Clutch side was no problem. I did not glue the new grips. I would not recommend filing the entire throttle tube like this guy did:

Only the outer ring or what you need. File a little, then test, and repeat.

I installed the Duc heated grips this past winter and so far, i'm pleased with them. They're not as thick as the Oxfords on m KTM 950. They are pricey however. I might look into the mutants when i switch tires. Let us know what kinda mileage you get. My bike (2016 939 HS) came with Pirelli MT60's which i find wear fast but are similar in purpose to the mutants.

Hey, nice job.
What do you do with the original HM seat? It is taller and thinner than the HS' right?

I hate windscreen. I am 186cm taller and all bikes I ride with windscreen makes the wind comes in my face, causing turbulence.

I just remove the windscreen from my HS

I have the original SP seat in a box. Correct, the SP seat is taller and thinner, however, supposed to be better for track days.

Thinking about upgrading to Givi side boxes and an SC oval exhaust. Ordered the Givi adapter (PL7403) so I can mount 30L monokey boxes. I am hopeful I can fit a 36L since some of them roll back to allow access without removal or bumping into a large top-
