950 Headlight Transplant?

Anyone looked at the possibility of doing this swap?
I’m assuming the whole front fairing would have to get replaced as well.
(I love the LED running lights)
 
Have you attempted to do this?
I would like to do this as well if it is possible.
But I am afraid it's hard because the 821/939 front probable doesn't fit with the 950 front/dash
 
This is a great idea. I think the 950 looks more agressive in the front. I prefer the look tail better on the 821/939. It can't be too difficult. It is literally just 2 mounting points for the whole assembly And the top one is rubber. You slide the top piece into the red circles area and bolt the bottom piece.

I have not, and unfortunately I’m currently away from home and my bikes so I can’t even begin to compare parts.

The 950 does look a lot 'beefier' and mature than the 821/939
Keep us updated, and if you're gonna attempt the swap, please film so we can copy if it works :p

P.S. how would the headlight be turned on, since the LED should be the standard daytime riding light.

Confirmed with more diagrams that the mounting points appear to be identical.
However, going to need to wait for a use complete assembly to show up on ebay or classifieds before I consider this more seriously.
Buying everything new would be around $1k! :oops:

950 part #7 (48019501A) is the only one you really need to see if it will mount to the 821/939, and a used one sold on EBAY for about $50:

Alternatively, a new one is $115:

If that doesn't fit, then you might just need the 950 mounting brackets (11 and 16), assuming the bolt spacing and vertical distance between the triple clamps is the same. The rubber spacers (950 #14 and 821/939 #8) are the same part number.

Also, this would give an indication of how much work it would be to refit the 821/939 dash before investing in the rest of the beak. Plus you could go aftermarket carbon if desired.

I like it. Now my only concern is will I still have an option to use a real windscreen for longer rides? (Haven’t looked into it)

Unfortunately I’ve been pretty swamped with life and my other toys to focus on the Hyper... but I have a few items on the to-do list... vinyl wrap and/or decals, suspension, and this headlight
 
Is this cosmetic or functional? I just think there's much easier ways to get LED lighting effects. I do love Duc's modern running light effects but if one of my DP handguard LED turn signals costs $400...that modern cluster has gotta be well over $1000.

Daytime running lights is one of those "I don't see it from the saddle so I don't care" items, but, I do very much care about effective lighting. Since the Italians communicate with their highbeams and none of the roads are lit at night, I need max performance. No factory main beam is going to satisfy this so aux lighting is my crutch.
 
I don't think the 950 comes with LED lighting aside from the DRLs, so I'd suspect the beam patter / lighting is very much the same.
 
It would all be aesthetic.... I like the more aggressive look and I’m a sucker for LEDs lol

Nothing yet. I’m in the middle of getting ready to sell my house and move back to Vegas. So I’ll revisit my hyper mods after I’m settled out there.... check back in November
