Anyone ever have the exhaust springs break?

LOL..

I noticed half of one of them on the garage floor this weekend. Turns out they've both broken! Will be calling the dealer tomorrow. What would cause that?

Broken or just came off? Either one shouldn't happen at even my bikes age.

Do you off road it all?

i did about 10 miles of dirt back in june, and just got back from a 1200 mile trip to indy moto gp.

one is broken. half was on the garage floor and part is still hanging there. the other is missing completely.

Not on this bike, but I had exhaust springs fly off before. The ends actually fatigued and cracked. On the hyper they are still intact.

I think you could get some replacements under warranty. They shouldn't fall off.

dealer opens in a couple hours, I'm calling as soon as they open. also had the bike shut off on my during my trip to moto gp. pulled the clutch and restarted with no issue after that, but still disconcerting.

Remove the charcoal canister, should never stall again.

well, dealer had never seen such a thing, and replaced them right away. I gave them the remains of the broken one to send back to Ducati.

also they did a software update, I don't know the specifics but the throttle seems a LOT more 'smooth' with less snatchiness off idle. I like it!

Tell me more about the charcoal cannister, and how it affects the stalling....

I don't really know. It somehow makes the engine too lean when you're decelerating and kills it. It used to happen to me daily then I took it off and hasn't happened once in 9,000 miles.
