Anyone Notice a strange sound after riding the bike?

Mine makes like a big groan/sigh every now and then. Usually when you get near it, does not need to be on.

The big groan or fart sound is fuel pressure venting. It's pretty embarrassing and the 796 HMotard I was in MSF class with made no such noise after shutting down.

Tito, that's a new sound to me. Does it do it with ignition off? Is it consistent? Stronger with longer rides/higher temps?

Mine does the same as super described, every 10 minutes or so if the engine is still warm it groans. My girlfriend likes to call it the Duc quacking... Tito that's a new sound for me, but it does sound like it could be from the fuel pump.

I considered the fuel pump... My uncle doesn't think so.. It still made the sound even after the engine and key were turned off. It seems to be louder after longer rides.. That could be my imagination. It is consistent as well.

It does sound like a vacuum valve opening and closing. I have not heard this on mine though. Maybe as the engine or fuel tank cools after a long ride a vacuum is being formed and the Evap canister has a valve that is opening to relive the vacuum.

That's a pretty rapid cycle for a non-powered vacuum valve. Wouldn't it slow down as pressure equalized?

It eventually slows down and completely stops.. I still have my emissions canister on, so I wouldn't be surpised if that is what the sound is related to.

It's not hard to get dealer to remove if you're not in Cali. My dealer initially replied with something non-incriminating, like, "Tampering with a federally mandated device would be illegal...", only to find the techs had already **** canned it.

my bike does the same thing, ive put 4k miles on it and the evap canister was removed since day one.

Maybe it's just the white colored models! I still haven't spoken to the dealership, but I will give an update.
