In early September I'm looking to head to Hervey Bay for a weeks R&R and to look at property.

It's about 1400klms from Sydney to HB, and I'm planning to do it in two days (maybe three), over nighting (camping from the bike).

Question....does anyone have a suggested route (I'm very happy to stay out of Brissy and the Gold Coast :D

Ive never ridden any of these roads north of Sydney (except putty) but i see a lot of people mentioning them as being great bike roads.
Could begin by going up the putty to Singleton, across to Dungog, up buckets way to Gloucester where it turns into thunderbolts way
and continue on through Walcha and then beyond to Inverell or up to Armidale.
From there i have no idea, maybe new england highway the rest of the way through Brisbane,
or maybe accross to the coast going through Ebor or through Glen innes to Grafton further up.
Not sure about once you are up in QLD, probably plenty of nice roads a bit further west of brisbane.
Guess it depends on time though, thats a lot of ground to cover in 2 days.

Sydney to Shute harbour [Motorcycle Route] at MotoWhere.com

Not mine but the first half is kind of what i mention. There are lots of other good routes on that site as well.
Almost too many options.

All good advice from adm.
If you can do the Oxley Hwy in between Walcha and Wauchope I would highly recommend it... probably the best motorbike road in Oz.
