Any fellow Australians planning on riding their Hyper to the Superbikes at Phillip Island this weekend?

I wish! Phillip Island is on my bucket list. I'm settling for the Dorna online broadcasts. Have a great time!

Great circuit and the Supers are a bit more like a club round than the MotoGP. Best meet of all is the Island Classic, walk through the pits, talk to the riders and crew. This year John McGuinness, IoM TT Champ was riding. A few years ago my son was having pizza for lunch with the great Giacomo Agostini who was there riding his GP wining MV 3 and 4 cylinder bikes; what an amazing sound those things make.
Hope you get to put a tick in that one on your bucket list; if you time it for the Australian summer, late January through February you could squeeze in the Classics and the Superbikes with plenty of riding days in between, including a track day at the Island. :D

Great day at the Supers. You've got to love an international event where you can park trackside and ride around the circuit if you like. The pictures below are taken along the main straight, the first looking toward Bass Strait and turns 1 and 2 and the second looking up to turn 12.

The weather was sensational. It was great to see the Ducati showing itself as competitive with Davide Guigliano second in Superpole and fourth in the championship and Chaz Davies second quickest lap behind the round winning Aprilia.

I traveled with two mates, one on a Ducati 1098s and one on a Triumph Speed Triple. We rode the direct highway route on the way down and the scenic route on the way back. In all we covered a little under 700Km in the day. Of interest, on each fuel stop on the trip the 1098 and the Triumph took approx 10l , whereas the Hyper, only 8.5l, which underscores the more technical consumption figures presented by other "Hyperisti" on this forum attesting to the Hyper's fuel efficiency. I was in sport mode the entire trip and the Hyper acquitted itself admirably in the company of these bigger steeds.
There were of course heaps of Ducati's at the track, but I only spotted one other Hyper.

Yes, that was a great event. The only thing that really disappointed was PJ Jacobsen's engine failure in WSS. He was headed for the lead up to that point! And Geoff May's injured shoulder sounds bad.

I live within 5 miles of where riders like Lawson and Rainey once raced dirt track, so I am always going to root for the Americans. Unfortunately, they turned it onto a (Costco) parking lot...:(

Nice, thanks for the pictures. Would be cool to get to ride around the track for sure.

Great to see some good racing.
