Well, I visited Ducati dealers #2 and #3 today to find out what I could about the upcoming Hyperstrada. Understandably perhaps, neither knew much more than we all have gleaned from various websites, but both confirmed that e.t.a into dealerships here in Oz is expected in March/ April. On pricing, the story was quite different "“ #2 confirmed the price I'd been told by the first dealer I spoke to last week, expected to be in the high $AUD19Ks, but #3 said it was to be around $AUD18K "“ "but don't hold me to it". I won't "“ but hope he's correct! This dealer was able to give me a catalogue, but again it tells nothing we haven't seen on-line.

While there I crawled all over the Ducati bikes on the showroom floors and marvelled at the detail, finish, and workmanship, and how petite the models all seemed to be, except maybe for the Multistrada 1200.

At #3, a $32K Panigale would be nice (if I was 50 years younger!), while a $40K MV Agusta would be even nicer!

So now it's matter of being patient, keeping in touch with the dealers, and awaiting that test ride"¦ L of S

I wish I was younger too and my back could take panigale. Oh well I just probable hurt myself anyway. Now it's just the waiting game.

Why are we getting all this SPAM crap here - and why does it take so long to be deleted. Slack site management... L of S :mad::mad::mad:

Sorry, gents, for the spam. I've been logging on every day, cleaning it up and banning the spambots.

I'm going to upgrade the registration process to prevent this from continuing to happen. Argh! I hate spambot just as much as you guys do!

Ducati's build schedule

When placing my pre-order a week or two ago, my dealer has told me that the few Hyperstradas seen to date at shows, etc., have been pre-production models (makes sense) that may lead to minor (if any) changes to the final product based on comments made. He also told me (apparently on advice of the Australian distributor) that actual volume production does not start until some time in March. Obviously, this has implications for the ability of us all to purchase the Hyperstrada in various markets...

Does anyone have a handle on this, or can someone comment with authority? It would be really nice to know - I don't want to wait for mine until next Christmas!!

When I was at the bike show 2 weeks ago, I spoke with the Ducati rep and my local dealer. Both offered the same insight. All dealers head out to California the first week of March for training on the Hyperstrada (and other models), then the first batch is shipped around 3 weeks later. My dealer has 2 white and 2 red coming in. He thought no later than April 7-10...

I've got one on order down in Melbourne, have done since the announcement.

The ETA at the moment seems to be sitting at late Marchish. There is no set build date yet so I'm not holding my breath, frankly I think I'll be lucky to see it in April.

In terms of cost, I can't actually remember what I'm paying but it is a nudge over $19k ride away (Victoria).

My dealer told me the same info as member "My Cool". He expected the bikes end of march - begin april. Hope they will be on time! Strange that they introduce the hypermotard and the SP but no info of the Hyperstrada.

I've got mine on order up here, AusHyper (Brisbane) with eta late April. I contacted the Oz distributors a few weeks ago and they told me that production would commence in March, first stock into Oz - including 'mine' - mid to late April. But like you I'll believe it when I see it. About $19,400 here.

Update: I was at a Ducati party last night at my dealers. They leave for California on March 10th. From the 12th through the 15th they spend one day with each new bike. So the Strada will obviously be there. When they get back, the bikes are expected to arrive within 3 weeks...making the first week of April still the plan/goal.

Had a chat with the stealer again yesterday. Still not even a whiff of a build date. The wait is killing me and that base multi is looking better and better everyday...
