Balancing Tire/wheel after change

So I'm changing tires on my bike. Went w/ the Angel GTs. They were on sale on Revzilla. This and the fact that they have been out since around 2013 makes me think that perhaps Pirelli may be coming out w/ a replacement for the Angel GTs.

Anyways,my friend has a tool for balancing. I'm not sure if it's static or dynamic, He has probably changed tires and balanced the same on a dozen bikes. However, he says he doesn't believe his machine will work for my bike because it is a single side swingarm.

Frankly, I don't understand enough to know why this makes a difference. He's going to get back w/ me w/ the exact setup he has. My questions:

1) Generally what recommendations do you have? Does he need some type of adapter? (I realize it might be helpful if I knew what system he has)

2) Maybe I can go w/out balancing the tires? I read somewhere else on this forum that I could leave the weights on the wheel and just not worry about balancing it further.

3) Anyone use or recommend balance beads? (if so, what brand?)

I may ride pretty spirited, but I'm not planning on racing or tracking the bike. I'm not sure it needs to be perfect...

Your friend will likely need adaptors for your wheels, but otherwise the balancing procedure is the same. I've run a few sets without balancing them, wasn't a problem. In fact, my current tires are angel gts and I didn't balance them. No problems.

I had to make adapters to balance mine. That's the only difference. For static balancing (most common at home) it's literally just a couple cones. I've had some tires need 0 weights, and some need 6 or 7 weights. I don't think it really matters honestly.

3D print some cones and use a harbor freight balancing stand. I have the STL files for the balancing cones if you want.

These are considered very good, and have fittings for single side swingarm wheels: Motorcycle Wheel Balancer

I use balancing beads - they seem to work, but I might try the parnes out of curiosity.

Will be doing balancing beads. According to my research the ones I selected are like 3-4 times more expensive but they're the only ones w/ virtually NO negative reviews.

Counteract

They are much more expensive than dyna beads. I don't understand it, but supposedly the tech really works.

Will update you. Plan is to use these on the rear and we will just balance the front w/ weights.

The single sided swing arms have a large diameter hole through the center in most cases, and the small wheel width in that area doesn't help much. I have not changed tires on my Strada yet, but I will make an insert/adapter similar to my bmw that has the same issue.

You can use 3-4" pvc (cut sides for correct circumference) cut in half to fit around the balancing rod and then the cones can have an area to grab. I can't imagine what happens at slow and at very high speeds with the beads; from my research, they seem to be ok for light balancing, but ymmv.

I'm sure they're fine, but they all work the same wy. I recommend dumping then directly in the tire while mounting. Getting then through the valve stem is pain.
