Bluetooth Helmet Audio

What is everyone using out there in your helmet for Bluetooth audio? I'm looking for an in helmet audio system that I can:

A. Pair with my iPhone to answer calls;

B. Pair with my iPad/iPhone to listen to music while riding;

C. Pair with the DP gps so I can hear turn by turn navigation without having to look down;

D. Possibly chat to other riders in the immediate vicinity.

Let me know what you've got, with likes and gripes about the system. Thanks-

I am using a Sena SMH 10.

No problems connecting the iphone and my Garmin Zumo GPS. Setting it up was easy with no problems. Answering the phone is easy, and have had no noise complaints from people on the other end even when I use my open face helmet.

For the phone simply say hello or say anything and it automatically answers, same when you use the intercom function.

If you have multiple helmets you can buy microphone and ear pieces and simply transfer the main module when you change helmets. Simple snaps in place.

Battery power seems to be good. I ride all day on a road trip without any problem. I have not tried it between riders on another bike, but have used it when the gf is on the pillion and have had no problems communicating.

My only issue is controlling volume. Can be a little awkward to adjust and remember which way to turn. Would be great if it produced some type of continuous audio signal when you adjust the volume so you could get a good test level.

Being a Canadian and now living in BKK I know it can get a little chilly back home. So I cannot comment on battery issues in cold weather. Can tell you I have been on the bike when it is above 40C and have had not problems.

Me and the Memsaab have Schuberth Helmets, we have the Schuberth Bluetooth Comms System. Works Well, I have no GPS. If connecting to the GPS you pair the phone to the GPS and then the GPS to the Helmet, so phone calls go through the GPS (or so I understand).

Have friends with Sena Systems, and no complaints. Sena seems to be a good retrofit

Have a Sena SMH-10R and I think it solves the above posters issues with the rotary dial model. The phone/intercom feature is pretty fantastic- the VOX function mutes the mic when you're not speaking and I've had conversations at hwy speed.

But in helmet speakers suck when you get above urban speeds. All you get is tinny highs when you crank the volume to overcome wind noise. Best solution is BT earbuds paired to a mounted phone/GPS.

I use these OT Tags. Gotta snake them in after putting helmet on but they do the job, affordable and have mic for phone calls.

Just came across these on indiegogo and ordered a pair - Nextear. They look awesome and I might even be able to slip helmet on with them in.

For A, B, and C (not sure about D), I use Motorola Buds with T200 Comply foam tips.

I recently purchased LG Tone Bluetooth headset. It has better music quality, can sync to more than one device. The T200 comply foam tips will fit these also.

The neck part is better on the Buds as it's longer and more rigid. I will find something to fix this part on the LG's.

So you get better sound with LG Tone. Although the buttons (controls) need to be further out and the neck more rigid like the Motorola Buds. So I would recommend the Motorola over the LG because of this difference.

Scala Rider Q3. Works excellent.
I use iPhone for music and calls, and a Garmin Zumo.
I once asked someone who called me when riding the bike, if she could hear me riding it (and I have a Termi exhaust): she didn't even notice.

Hi, I haven't got the manual handy, but they can pair up to quite a few. The will also pair up to none Senas apparently. Although I haven't tried that yet. Will be one day though, just don't know when.
