Drove to work this morning with mild showers and air temps of 44F/6.5C. I parked cross-slope, with the kickstand on the downhill side, on what I estimate is a 5% grade.

When I got off the bike, I was surprised to find water pouring off the left side of the radiator like from a garden hose. I'd swear I watched a couple/few quarts/litres of dirty water come off the bike, which was also in need of a wash. Just wondering ... WTF ... where did all that water originate? Did it fling off the front tire and accumulate in the fairings during the ride?

The bike always stinks of burning rubber in the rain. I'm assuming that's just road grime flinging onto and burning off of the header pipe. With morning gridlock the pipe was glowing cherry red, with afternoon gridlock it looked fine. Very strange.

Following cold start this morning, in underground parking, the pipe was glowing orange by the time water temp readout switched from LO to 104F/40C. Left the lot and headed up the street for about 200 yds. Pipe was still orange. Pulled over, hit the kill switch, waited 5 seconds, started back up, and the pipe never went back to overheating.

I have started to wonder if there is a cold start issue with the ECU firmware, but I suppose Euro 5 emissions ******** may have encouraged some more silly bugger games, à la VWgate.
