Carbon Fiber Bling

Strictly a conversational thread. :D

When I picked up my 14 Hyperstrada from the dealer they had put a shiny finish carbon rear fender and exhaust pipe heat shield on it and a flat finish carbon tank cover and flat on the Termi exhaust.

So as I slowly do the rest of the bike which finish should I go with? Flat or shiny?

Eventually I would like to do the side plates, rear fender sides, key cover, and maybe even get real stupid and to the belt covers.

Discuss what you would do.

I like the matte looking carbon the SP has on the fender and engine covers. Not glossy, but not dull :)

I'd leave it alone, but I think carbon fiber looks ridiculous on anything. It's blingy ********, no different than spinners on a hoopty.

if the carbon fibre bits are well made and actually reduce weight, then I like it. I much prefer the matte CF over the very shiny ones just as a personal preference...

Well, I just installed some bits (side covers, radiator cover, exhaust heat shield) in the shiny form. To me, the matt finish looks somewhat dull and faded, but that may be just me.
