comfort?

general question. i know we are all built differently and find comfort levels in our own way.

maybe I'm not used to this bike yet, but i find the riding position a bit strange. seems like no weight is on my feet and all the weight is "you know where".

i continually move around to try and obtain comfort. i guess i wish my feet were a few inches further forward to add to comfort.

anyone else have issue with getting comfy on the bike? also seems like my feet just keep sliding off the pegs.

i was considering raising the tripple tree on the front forks a few MM to make bike sit more upright?

Are you sure you are sitting on a Hyperstrada? (Just kidding)

I'm 5'7" (170cm) with a 31" (79cm) inseam. Though I do not find the saddle as comfortable as some, I do not experience crushing of my tender bits.

You could try sitting close to the tank. If you are coming from a sport bike, this will be awkward at first. Sitting as far back as you can will cause your hips to rock forward due to the rise on the saddle.

ha, yeah its a strada. i just feel like my feet are not planted firmly and I'm falling forward on the seat and constantly moving around.

6'1", 34" Inseam. When I first rode it definitely experienced some pressure on the family jewels. What I like to do when riding is scoot forward a little then lean back and use the upcurve in the seat as a little back support. Gets the weight more on to my butt and I get to sit up proud and majestic as my snorting iron steed and I L-Twin fart our way through the countryside

I had the same feeling until I removed the rubber inserts in the foot pegs. Now it feels like I have a firm footing on a flat surface, not a rounded rubber you're not really sure where your foot is feeling.

funny, I'm having that issue but only AFTER about 180 or so miles. Im considering trying the low journey seat BUT I'm also considering the new Multistrada Iceberg white with the red frame.... I love the look and feel of that bike.

i too removed rubber inserts but still not much grip. maybe i will just sharpen pegs for better bite on boots.

will try different seating positions too as suggested.

I apply racing techniques from twist of wrist and total control. Try squeezing your legs together to keep yourself up, take the weight off your arms and back.
I'm still considering adjustable rearsets though the furthest forward adjustment I've seen on rearsets is an inch and that might be enough.

Cosmick, have you tried padded bicycle shirts under your pants? I find that really helps for the longer trips, and others have made similar comments.

It's strange, but I'm 5'7" and I find this bike to be the most comfortable I've ridden. Stock set is perfect. Sitting a little forward, like others have said give the least pressure on the... parts. Only complaint I have is that it's a little hard to move around on for spirited riding.

I might complain about its reliability and Ducati North America, but I can't fault the ergonomics and comfort. I'm 5'7" with a 30" inseam, and it's easily the most comfortable bike I've ever owned.

Compared to my 2008 Hypermotard and any Monster I have ever owned, this thing is like a recliner. My feet do slip off from time to time, though.

The 2008 was a blast to ride but was pretty rough on the ol' taint.

How comfortable, like in what way? The hyper is in the same class as sport bikes, I mean right?
Has anyone tried adjustable rearsets? There's at least one type that will move both foot levers and pegs one inch forward. I'd like to know if anyone's tried that and if one inch forward is worth the investment. My primary interest in rearsets is to gain folding lever pegs. I laid my bike down riding in sand hills and it bent the brake lever peg a tad.

This may sound a bit strange, buuuuuuut

Try wearing underwear that locates and keeps your "junk" in the front. Those with some kind of pocket @ the front. I have no issues with tender bits getting crushed or moving around on seat. When I do wear "regular" underwear I have crushing/comfort issues (I tested this on rides to work 45 miles on way).

Moto Skiveez work well too (have pocket for "junk" and padded seat, etc).

Anyhow, I expect to get some flak, but I'll share tips @ the risk of taking some jabs.

Hope this is helpful.

Peace

I'm a 5'7" with 29-30 inch inseam rider. My junk is always fine, only it gets rearranged up sometimes by my touring pants or cycling shorts. I have to give the boys the Rossi tug to get them back where they should be.

The bike is pretty much the best thing on 2 wheels for all around usage. My first problem is my throttle hand will go to sleep after a while so cruise control is in my future. My SV650 Race bike was the same way till I loosened up my death grip and moved my hand out further on the grip. For some reason my RC-51 doesn't do it to me.

The second problem I have is my feet will get tingly and fall asleep on long slab runs. I have a few the theories as to why. Maybe the rubber fillers aren't dampening the vibes enough, my boots are too old (could use some Dr. Scholls gel dealio's maybe), The pegs are too low (getting busy on the back roads I feel myself losing grip on the outside peg due to short legs I think) or conversely the seat padding is to thick cutting off blood flow after a while.

I guess my third problem is I rode a friends Concurs 1400 and I'm worried I won't be able to get even close to that wind protection level hahaha.

Anyone run into the feet thing too?

I haven't had the tingling on my feet. I did find it made a huge difference for me to switch to proper Moto boots that are more forward angled. That made it way more comfortable for my feet, and I no longer have issues with my heels not fitting in well. It's all in the slight forward lean of the racing style boots for me.

I have occasionally found myself experiencing the comfort level you describe. I just sit a bit farther forward on the saddle and all is good. It is set up more like a dirt bike. I've found that if I ry to ride it like a sportbike, neither of us is happy.
