I am looking for comfortable protective riding gear that will fit me and not break the bank. It seems to be difficult to find since I am short (5' 8") and stocky (190 lbs evenly distributed).

broad legs, 32-33" waist, 30" inseam, and about 42-44" chest.

I know that I'm not the only guy that has measurements like this. I'm just hoping that someone else that reads this can offer advice on a reasonable priced brand that would make a jacket and/or pants that may fit me comfortably and offer good protection.

have you tried Cycle Gear?
I dont have your body shape but they seem to have a huge selection of well priced clothing

I'm almost the same size. Most of my stuff was purchased at RevZilla. I'm happy with my Scorpion Covert jeans sz. 32. Length of the jeans needs to be trimmed. My jackets are: Icon Contra sz. M for warm weather, and Icon Daytona leather sz. L for cooler days. I also have a Sas-Tec hip armor and D3O knee pads in my jeans. Knee pads are not really comfortable.

I used Revzilla. I have a Speed n Strength perforated leather jacket which is very comfortable for summer, not heavy like other leather jackets. Then look for Draggin jeans.

Check out AGV Sport riding pants. I have the khaki cargo's and aside from a little extra weight, look very casual. You can jump off the bike and roll into a store or restaurant.

Thanks for the tips. I'm finding many more jackets that look like they will be comfortable and provide good viability and protection.

Arreola - I wear contacts and so far have to wear glasses with foam to keep the air from flowing over my eyes, even with my visor down and the vents closed. Also, my helmet is REALLY noisy on interstate speeds (over 60 mph - 96 kph). Any suggestions for a helmet that may help keep my eyes from drying out and/or are somewhat quite?

@MonkeyByte80 What type of helmet are you currently riding in? I wear contacts too and my Shoei X-12 flows a ton of air to my face via the chin vent. In most instances, as it becomes too much air, I tend to close that vent for a bit until I get too warm. Sometimes a lot of ventilation comes with a price. Let me know if you have more questions. My office is filled with riders and we can bounce ideas around.

It's a Bell. I don't recall the model. I bought it about 4 years ago and didn't ride much so the noise wasn't a big deal. Now, I want to ride my HS as much as possible so I would like to have a quieter ride. I guess that I can learn to live with air flow. glasses like these (http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/61T0CUbqDrL._SL1500_.jpg) will should do the trick of keeping my contacts from drying out.

A friend of mine had a complaint about the Bell Revolver helmets, but i think it is ALSO depended on what you ride and how the wind protection on the bike other than the helmet quality. For quality, sure Arai has always very good reviews. I ride a Nolan N104 and very happy with it.

Always check Revzilla, STG, fcmoto and motosports for better deals.

I will be sure to read the reviews closely before I buy another helmet. Thanks for the feedback.

I have been scouring the internet for jackets. So far there is only one place that I can find all of the styles that I like the most, Ebay. When I settle on a specific jacket, I'll try to go through an online storefront instead of Ebay though.

Icon Mens Brawnson Textile Street Motorcycle Jacket
Scorpion Torque Textile Street Jacket
Joe Rocket Reactor 2.0 Leather Jacket
SPEED & STRENGTH Twist of Fate 3.0 Textile Jacket
ICON CONTRA MOTORCYCLE TEXTILE JACKET (Red)

Any thoughts on these jackets?

I personally like Alpinestars, have a sniper air flow, that was fairly cheap and a great coat.

Textile is a must in SE USA. I've fallen in everything but leather and a good textile jacket is thick enough and padded where it counts to add reasonable protection.

I bought this one last summer and am thouroughly impressed: Dianese Air Frame. Pricey, but worth every penny.

I do wear leather during the (usually) mild and short winter.

I was about to buy the Dainese Air Frame last season from the Ducati dealer, but the completely black colour which was only available made me think again.
