Hi hyper people!
Last year I did this Dark Dog Moto Tour 2013 Dark Dog Moto Tour 2013 - on a 2001 S4 Monster. It was truly epic. This year I'm going on a 821 SP that's been Hyperstrada'd. I really wanted the stronger wheels and upspec suspension. This bike makes my old S4 feel like a sled!
The full story is here: Dark Dog Moto-Tour in France - ADVrider

BTW I had all sorts of software updates added today that made a huge difference. I had been having stalling and popping and coughing s - all better now!

Taking delivery! Pre rallye prep. I'll post some pictures of the rallye mods soon. That's my old S4 sulking in the backround.

Here it is in full cargo mode with the dreaded rain suit on top:mad:

Hopefully these crash worthy handguards will protect the levers. There doesn't seem to be anyone selling the folding variety yet. The OEM guards will instantly explode if $$ dropped $$. Tusk LED signals.

We'll at times start when it's still pitch dark and raining so..........I learned last year that it's great to be able to load the roadbook off the bike. I came up with this setup. Ain't pretty but it works. Purple bungee is for ezpass, blue pulls the roadbook down just in case I enter a gravity free situation which has been known to happen.:D

I took my seat apart and reshaped the foam so the hump moved further back and the front is a little flatter. Better, but still nothing to write home about. It puts a little more weight on yer sit bones where it belongs. The wire is the original contour.

Damn, dude. I find it hard to get 100 miles south to Daytona for bike week and you're shipping a bike to France?!

Search "posting pics to vBulletin". Pics have to be uploaded to web pic service first. I like Photobucket.

welcome Fred,
Had a look at the tour you did, hell of a ride.
Look fwd to reading how the Hyper performed/comparision and the pics of course.

Looks like fun! That building looks allot the the Ducati dealer in Maine.

Fred I remember reading your post of last years event on ADVrider! Well Done!

Do you think fuel capacity will be an issue?

I held off buying a Hypermotard because of that. This new one has more capacity than my S4 had so I went for it.
