DP GPS Zumo 350LM

So, Got my DP GPS all mounted the other day. It works well as a GPS if that is all you are going to do with bluetooth GPS. It has a good screen, touch with gloves, very fast easy to read in sunlight, really a nice unit.....except....You cannot pair your bluetooth headset with it and anything else. I have spent the last 2 days dickin around, surfin the web, trying everything I can to get my iPhone, Zumo, and Sena SMH10 to hook up. It appears that the Zumo uses up the resources of the headset allowing nothing else to connect. I will continue to try to find a solution, but it is not looking promising.

More Info. After a call to SENA tech support, they are aware of the difficulties with the Zumo 350 in the way that it unnecessarily uses the HFP connection. HFP (Hands Free Profile) is generally used for phones. Previous models of Garmin GPS's allowed phones to connect to them and then the GPS to connect to the headset. It allowed all you phone interaction to be handled on the GPS screen. This new model has done away with the phone/music interface, but still uses up the HFP. So, SENA has updated their firmware to their headsets to allow for "multipoint pairing". My problem appears to be solved. After a quick in house test, I was able to listen to music, make and recieve phone calls on my iPhone5. I was able to have the GPS interrupt the music to give spoken directions. Thankfully SENA has been on top of this and reacted with an update. But, buyer beware, that this IS a limitation of the Zumo 350LM, and it's possible that not all BT headsets will work pairing with 2 HFP devices.

Hi. Can you show the picture of the gps n its mount on the bike? Would like to see how it is.

Install is plug n play, comes with all you need. Took about an hour to install. Could do it in a 1/2 hour now knowing what to do.

Partial install instructions here (the electrical part):

blocking gauges with tank bag install

How is it with your tank bag and how visable are the gauges?Looks like it is blocking them a little bit.

I have a garmin 665 and had it so I could just see the gauges but today I put the DP tank bag on the bike and the garmin either hits the tank bag or hides too much of the display with the touratech mounting. Going look into another type of mount and see if I can it to a happy medium another mounting system. I will be losing the protection of the touratech mount is the only bad thing.

Saw the other post.. you have a very small bag.

The DP mount has some rotate up/down adjustment from where I have it. So, you can rotate it down and reveal more gauges, but you get a steeper viewing angle on the GPS. I tried to get the photo to accurately represent my view. Where it is now, I can fully see both GPS and gauges easily. My tank bag is small, so there are no issues between it and the GPS. My experience with mounting GPS's (I also use this GPS on my Multi) is the most flexible option is with RAM mounts. I use a ball that replaces one of the handlebar bolts and from there you can get many different length extensions to put the GPS exactly where you want it.

Thanks Wild Bill for the pictures
The Ducati Bag pretty much takes up the top of the tank area so its a nice size. I ordered a new mounting bracket from tech mount today and it should be here Friday. I will try and post some pictures this weekend.
