Engine/Rad Guard or Belly pan?

Hi gang.

Has anyone got any thoughts/experience with the SW Mototech rad & engine guard vs the belly pan type guard?

I much prefer the former but can't help thinking that it's situation in comparison to the front wheel would just force all the crap up and underneath it?

I have the SW Motech skid plate and it's great. A very solid piece you can lift the bike from it. It has protected the engine from most of the rocks and dirt.

Yeah, I've just ordered one actually. But I'm thinking about maximising the protection. Previous extendas haven't done much in the past but I know it'll help in conjunction with a nice hefty engine guard. Cheers!

Thanks kuksul! Don't suppose you've got any pics of it mounted?

Here's one a took a while ago:

Lovely, thanks mate. That looks very nice! Mind you, I could be getting thrown off by that excellent paint scheme and by how clean it looks. Mine's only just a week old and it looks like it's been round the world already!

Ok, one more. Has anyone tried the Evotech engine guard with BS Motorsport's belly pan. I.e. This one...

Thanks BlueSwede.

I went ahead and ordered that last one and I've combined it with the EvoTech engine/rad guard and a fenda extenda. I wouldn't say it's a perfect fit and I hope it doesn't interfere with the air flow too much but it's chucking it down today and there's no road-spray on the engine at all. Bosh!

I'll chuck some pics up when I get the chance.

Where's the pics? :p

Completed my center stand rear exhaust bend protector project. NOW, I can ride the rocky areas without fear of damaging the underside of the bike.

The angle is because the exhaust bend is at an angle too.

Down the new guard just touches the engine skid plate in one place.

Up I have the protection needed to keep this very vulnerable exhaust pipe bend from being damaged on rocks or debris.

That custom center stand is seriously awesome. Great work! Your bike is definitely one of the best adventure-focused hypers on this site.

Thank-you.

With El Nino the next ride in the woods should be very soon. Photos to follow.
