Garage Door Remote Mounting

Bought a key chain remote for garage and found a nice place to mount it in grip guard. Just used some industrial velcro and heated up adhesive with blow drier until really gummy. It's very secure, removable and didn't get wet when I rode through storm yesterday. It's tucked in and well hidden though it doesn't look it in picture. I can punch it with a finger without really taking hand fully off bar.

Had to be on the bike for me. I wear multiple jackets and put all my pants pocket contents in jacket when I ride, which is an embarrassing amount of trash. I was going to ziptie in a tight location but then saw the little nook in the guards and it was perfect.

Found out that isn't ideal location after my remote went skipping down the highway last week...$40 mistake. I should have gone with my gut that the grove on the guard would create a not-so-great contact patch. The vibes finally shook it loose.

I moved location just forward and right of spot pictured. It's the large flat area perpendicular to 1st location, directly in front of clutch lever. It's nice and flat for good contact patch with velcro.

I also attached some small zipties to remote in case it tries to shake loose again. I looped it around hand guard and it's very hard to spot. Only minus there is I'll have to cut the straps to remove it. Thinking about waterproofing remote somehow, as well.
