Givi top box and fitting kit for hyperstrada

I made some inquiries to the availability and ETA on the GIVI top box fitting kit specific for the Hyperstrada, this should be available near the end of Oct.
J&S who are a supplier of Givi boxes and fitting mounts rang Givi for me.
The kit I was told will come with the mounting plate and extra support brackets that fit underneath. Then you just pick the box size you require.
Approximate price of kit was £150.00 without box. But don't quote me on the price that was an estimate by the dealer.
 
I just used the Multi12 kit, and cut/welded the brace to fit the HS. Helps to be able to mod sometimes.

well its arrived, just been to pick it up, kit looks good, bought a Givi top box and puncture repair kit too whilst I was in the shop. I'll post some pics later.:D

It was £120.00 for the kit.
 
Tried to fit the spare key barrel that came with the bike to the Givi top box, but it won't fit.

maximum load allowed 6kg / it does not allow the assembly of the stop light kit or the remote control device on the case

Cool, can you post some pics when it's fitted please? I want to put one of the bigger Givi boxes on, they must weigh over a Kilo's on their own! If you could give it bit of stress testing for weight and provide your thoughts that'd be really appreciated as well! I don't suppose your in Scotland so I can have a look?

very pleased with my choice, easy fitment, very good quality and very sturdy.

You pay a lot of money for an Italian motorcycle and put a big, ugly plasticbox on it?

Italians would slap you for that for sure!

Its a hyperstrada (tourer) comes with panniers as standard and top box as optional extra at a huge price. This clips on and off as and when I need it. And half the price of the DP.
 
Yes i do understand why you put a top box on it. If I would need the extra space I would do the same!

But what I can not understand is why you put such a cheap and bad looking plastic-box from givi on your Italien queen?!?!?!?!?
Givi are top boxes which are only used by scooters with less than 50ccm in germany..

Are there no better looking options in the uk? C'mon :-(
 
As far as I know Givi is the only company at the moment that provides a specific hyperstrada mount other than Ducati and there soft case doesn't look much better. Please enlighten us on here if you know of another option available for the hyperstrada.
 
They are now on the Canadian givi.ca site for 200$ Canadian. Little pricey but not much I can do. I will try ordering via one of my main motorcycle stores who may have a better price. But it is showing not available tell next month. Mind you that givi site had the trecker case date available one month ahead for over a year. But since people are buying it then should be as soon as next big givi container hits Canada.

Now will someone just make some dam crash guards

Hi Jerdog.
I suppose if you just bought the givi mounting plate with support bracket. It would be possible to adapt the plate to fit another type of box. The main factor of the givi box was it looks the part, its ease of fitting and removing with no modifications and the price was very reasonable and comes with the support brackets. It just locks on in a second and is very solid. Can be removed in seconds with a turn of the key and push a button.
The DP top box would be nice but couldn't justify the price.
