HI guys! gonna be a hyperstrada owner soon, pretty excited"¦ i live in China and already put down a deposit towards a new 14 hyperstrada! With the outrageous price of imported motorcycle (MSRP for strada is around 23k US dollars"¦), I got a decent deal for her with some free goodies"¦

my previous bikes have all been supersports! and as my age grows, i feel being to tired on a supersport and it is also not the most pratical bike"¦I do want to ride bike to work from time to time. That being said, i feel the strada could be a good choice for me as it is very versitile! I could ride around town without back pain and it is plenty fast on the high way and twists!

i got a quick question, can the windshield be removed when i want to just ride around town?

any help is greatly appreciated!

here are some pics of my previois bikes and my soon-to-be mine hyperstrada!ImageUploadedByTapatalk1426467838.894549.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1426467867.421104.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1426467911.779594.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1426467987.422378.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1426467998.164231.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1426468036.981058.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1426468085.592307.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1426468098.482021.jpg

And yes, you can remove the windshield and install a Motard small fairing if you like.

how hard is it to remove the windshield? I asked dealership, they said it cannot be removed "¦

And what Motard fairing are you referring to? Care to share a pic?

thanks!

if you are able to unscrew 4 screws you should be fine :D

Welcome to the forum, there is lots of useful info on here.
Regarding the screen you simply remove 4 screws and take it off, there is a Ducati aftermarket carbon screen designed for the Hypermotard that fits perfectly. I have one on my bike and I love it for round town riding.

PomGP, where did you buy your smaller screen? All I can find during searches are larger screen options for the HS. Very interested to see one.

I bought it at my Ducati dealer here in Johannesburg, they even had it in stock:eek: Cost about U$230-00 if my memory is working. I may still have the box with a part number on, I will check and get back to you.

Here ya go:
Ducati Part Number D96980231A "NHY CARBON HEADLIGHT"

Very nice screen, but holy crap.... $230 bucks? Love it, but that would get me 2 nights on a WV road trip and a hotel with a couple of beers.

I think the comment about the screen being for an SP may be right. It comes in a box complete with mounting brackets that the SP probably does not have as standard. So I now have a spare set of mounting hardware lying around:eek:

As for the price well to be honest we are used to inflated costs over here, our beloved government taxes the daylights out of anything imported and/or considered to be "luxury" But I won't rant on about that:eek:

I wonder where are you going to ride that in China. Most of the major cities banned motorcycles.

yep, that is true"¦ i currently live in a tropical island city, where they do ban motorcycles in the city, however it is not strictally enforced and cops can be bribed for two packs of smokes"¦"¦"¦

and i dont ride it everyday, i ride it out of the city during weekend where motorcycles are not banned

I have been to Vietnam, Hong Kong and China. Respect to anyone who uses a bike in any of these places:eek:
