Handle bar angle

Hi all,

Need some help. I installed a the new puig windscreen that required me to replace 2 of the handle bar bolts. Does anyone have any tips on how to adjust the angle of the bar? I noticed there are 2 dots if I peep at the bar from the front through the windscreen. I used it to align left and right but how about tilt angle of the bar itself? Are the 2 dots used for that as well?

Thanks!
Karl

Yes, there are two dots inboard of the handlebar mounts on the forward edge of the bar. Those should be roughly level with the split line of the bar clamp.

Thanks zibbit! I have mine aligned with the lower part of the split so the hand guard is pointed a slightly downwards. I guess there's no real danger to that right? The bolts are greased with moly and torqued to 25N per manual.

To tell you the truth, it comes down to personal preference, those dots are just a rough guide for the manufacturer to quickly assemble the bike the same almost every time. For my personal preference mine felt better having the dot just above the split line.. As long as it's torqued properly you'll be fine.

Thanks! About to leave on an epic 3300 km ride! Actually through your hood from BC then down to Montana. Let's see how Italian engineering holds up!
