Handling of the bike with ABS

Hello,
although I have had numerous bikes over the years I never owned a bike with ABS brakes and would like some info on the handling of the bike under extreme braking.

As said I have no experience with ABS on a motorbike - with a car it is possible to steer when the ABS is active - is this possible as well with an ABS equipped motorbike ?
My gut feeling doubts it - the ABS will prevent wheel lock but due to the compression of the front suspension steering will be very difficult.

Are the riders who have tried this extreme ? Is it possible to steer the bike and would you like to share your experience please ?

And what about the real extreme ? Front and back brakes fully engaged - what happens then ?

Thanks for your time ... jef

Hi JefDC,

I bought a new Harley Road Glide back in 2008 because they introduced ABS on the touring models. These 'outdated' V-twins are more hi-tech than most riders think. And there is not a much better mount for traveling the USA superslab. Cops ignore you, locals come up and talk to you, not so on other makes!

Here is an excellent video that explains the system's abilities and limitations, and applies to virtually all non-linked ABS systems:

Cheers from Sunny California!

Thank you very much, the video answers my question perfectly.
