Hello everyone, just bought a used 2014 yesterday up near Mt. View, CA and rode 600 miles home. Rode a couple of epic back roads, the 25, 33, and 198, stayed the night in Coalinger and then headed home to San Diego area today. So far, I really like the bike, do want to make some changes to suspension though. And the front steering seems like it could be better. Any common mods people make for these issues? I'm 5'5", 142 pounds.

Thanks for any help!

Rene

Congrats on your new ride! A week ago I traded in my 2013 Monster 796 for a new Hyper. How many miles were on the bike when you bought it? The front steering will change for the better once you change out the stock Pirelli Scorpions for Pirelli Angel GT's. I'm planning to head north and ride Highway 49 through gold rush country sometime in May, when it warms up a bit in the Valley and the Thule fog disappears.

Congrats. I used to live in IB. Man, I miss driving the Strand. That drive would wash away a bad day at work a mile into it.

Thanks for the greetings everyone, I have been busy riding my new bike! :)

I bought the motorcycle with 7000 miles on it. The guy I bought it from was using it for commuting.

I am looking forward to doing some suspension upgrades, which I usually do on any motorcycle I decide I am keeping for awhile. I use a place up in Orange County called Precision Concepts, which I HIGHLY recommend!

You will love the roads up there, some of my favorite riding in California is up there. :)

Good to see a female rider on this forum. I really love 198, take it whenever we travel from my brother's place in Santa Cruz back down to inland SoCal. It offers an amazing variety or terrain and corners.

Check out my thread "Fork Upgrade for Hyperstrada" for info and pix of the forks. They are pretty basic as supplied, and sprung too softly even for your fly weight.

I will check out your thread, thanks! I definitely need to suspension set up for me. Looking for a place in San Diego, CA to do the work....

welcome.. nice list of toys, I see why you chose the HS.

Thank you for the welcome! Yes, I wanted up right seating and comfort. I have owned a few sport bikes in the past, but want to be comfortable for long hauls. :)
