Hi Everyone,

Just picked up a 2016 939, first impression was is this a dirt bike?? It's actually part of her charm for me, and it's one of the fist bikes I've moved around with ease. My first Duc was a 94 SS/SP, and my last one was a 749s, both of which seem worlds apart from the hyper, and that's a good thing.

Looking forward to some nice rides and getting to know some of you folks on this forum.

Thank you.

Aron

Hey Aron! Welcome to the forum! Lots of good info and good people round here. I also have a '16 939 & LOVE it. Probably the best/easiest handling moto I've ever had. My first Duc was an 02 M620 dark. It was fun but definitely a totally different animal than the Hyper...in a good way lol. I see you're in norcal? Me too, well I guess more central cal, send me a pm if you're ever in the area!

Will do and thank you! Many moons ago, I was stationed at Castle AFB, so I know exactly where you are.

Very cool, Thank you for your service! So you're aware I live in the armpit of Cali, just north of Fresno(the butt crack of cali) LOL. There are a lot of really nice roads just outside of here.

Welcome Aron,
I'm in San Rafael. I have a '13 821.
Did you buy the near new Hyper that was recently posted on Craig's list ?
I nearly bought it myself. What a deal someone got!

Glad you're liking the bike. Once suspension is dialed in the Hyper is a near perfect NorCal back road bike.

Dirt bike? Not a chance. That's one area where it has not impressed me.
(Long story ... with back story!)

Good luck, ride safe!

Well Punisher, at least you're not cursed with our bay area traffic;0). As that old saying goes, "work or daytime TV" aging myself here, that was before the internets;).

Hey Patrick, we live in Pleasant Hill, and yes on the CL deal, 600 miles on her. As for suspension, I'll be working to setup the rear. The front doesn't feel as soft as most other bikes in this non-adjustable class, and sometimes I've gotten lost chasing suspension setup, especially front forks and how they handle mid-corner. For now, I'll ride her as is and then we'll see.

Glad to be here and thank you all!

Out in DC the front suspension was a nightmare on the potholed roads. The bike would completely jump offline. First thing I changed. 16 939.
