Hi,
Just bought a 2013 HS from Motor Cafe last Saturday. Finally got back on a bike after a pickup truck hit me & ruined my Honda VFR 2 years ago. Have already done a few commutes to work on it! It's very nice to be back on 2 wheels again.

Love the exhaust notes, I can hear it through my ear plugs (which are obviously cutting down on the wind noise). But am starting to think a slightly taller & wider windscreen might be a good investment. As well as a setup to hold & charge my iphone!

I do the hear plug thingy as well and I still can enjoy it's sound in tunels and under overpass. However I'm still too self concious about how noisy it is though I like it's sound.

I have fitted a carrier for my iPhone 4s bought off ebay, a bit like this one: Case Compatible W Iphone 4 1" RAM Ball FOR RAM Motorcycle Mounts Waterproof | eBay

I have the model that clamps to the mirror stem and has the ball/socket fitting for total adjustment. Have spent plenty of time riding in the rain and it has all stayed nice and dry.

I also fitted a waterproof USB charger port to the handlebar(from ebay) so I can charge the phone on the go. The phone is paired to my SENA SMH10R Bluetooth intercom so I can make and take calls on the move and have music wherever I go. This in turn is connected to a pair of molded ear plugs with inbuilt speakers, a really great set up.

HyperPedro, thanks for the tips on the iphone case and USB port. I think I found some similar items on Amazon for the RAM mount and found a thread about the 3BR Powersports USB chargers!
 
Here are the URLs for the items I installed. I attached the USB ports to the underside of the handlebar (one either side of the bar mount) and added cable ties around the self adhesive mounts as they just didn't seem strong enough on their own. I have wired them directly to the battery rather than switched with the ignition so I can charge the phone, camera or Bluetooth communicator when stopped.

I can't overstate just how great I have found the Sena SMH10R Bluetooth device pairing with the phone so I can listen to the radio or stored music, along with the ability to make and receive phone calls, talk with my ridding mates or pillion and if I want the solitude that motorcycling offers and sometimes demands, I just switch it off.

HyperPedro - thanks for these links - I like the design of the phone mount system - very simple!
Question from me is with riding glove and the extra plastic screen overlay of the case can you operate the touch screen? Do you have to remove your glove and open the case?

how does that screen install? The website is rather vague. Do you take yours on and off or leave it as permanent?

I was thinking of getting te bigger screen but this might be handier (and cheaper!)
 
It is held on with super-strength velcro (hook & loop) buttons. Yes you can remove it for washing etc. but the buttons are really aggressive. I don't bother, but both of my previous installations were on bikes with small, smoked screens (SV650, Buell XBSs). At least on the Strada you don't look through the screen unless you are trying to tuck in. There is enough gap to work a rag in there. And from what others have posted, the bigger screen still leaves you in turbulent air.

My wife could not handle freeway speeds on her SV until I added the Lip. And the turbulence on the Buell was terrible, even with earplugs. With the Lip it was so smooth and silent I could not tell how fast I was going without watching the speedo - anything from 55 to 85 felt the same. A bit of a PITA, actually!
