How do you strap a seat bag on??

Hey guys, I tried installing my rear seat bag today and couldn't figure out how the heck to do it and I ended up just looping the straps through the 4 loops that come out of the bottom rear of the seat and wrapping the excess cord around the rear grab handles. I was in a rush and had to get to Laguna Seca so I just made sure it was on secure and took off. But it looks like crap the way I secured it. Is there some better way to do this where the straps aren't visible or as ugly looking?

If you take the seat off there are 4 straps riveted to the plastic seat pan just where the passenger would sit, they are meant for just this type of application. If you criss crossed all you're straps underneath the bike I'm sure you could get all the straps hidden under you're seat!hope this helps and please share with us why you were at Laguna Seca and any pics you took, that place is certainly on my bucket list.

Nah, I have an axio on my bike too, let me get some pics and show you.

see this thread: "http://hyperstrada.com/ducati-hyperstrada/572-anyone-know-where-buy-axio-tail-bag.html"

How'd you do that??? Do you have any close-up pics? If you could take the seat off an show me how you did it underneath, that would be a huge help.

So I'm guessing the way to do it is take the seat off and attach it to the seat and then re-attach the seat with the bag already on it?

On the Axio bag there are 4 loops, PLUS a long strap that goes around the entire bag. What are you supposed to do with that long strap?

Ok, my axio has 4 velcro straps (one at each corner per se).

Starting with the rear, I found the easiest way was to wrap it under the rear light etc. I wrapped it then cut the straps to get a better fit. Then heated the end of the straps so they would not fray. This method allows the bag to be really sinched down tight and doesn't cover the light from the rear. I did it this way to help when the bag is installed (more later)

For the front straps, these go under the seat and wrap to a piece of industrial grade double sided velco (its actually sticky single sided I stuck together, one side hook, the other side loop) Make sure its x 2 width of the straps!!
You simply wrap the front straps around the velcro piece and slide over the seat (you need to play with it to get it to fit). So when its on the bike, its secure.
To install, unlock the seat (remove if necessary), slide the bag over the seat and ensure the front straps are tight enough around the seat and velco piece to ensure its sinched down. push the seat into position. With the rear of the bag still free you get access to push the seat to lock in position (assuming original lock etc). Then you sinch the rear straps as described above.
To remove: undo rear straps, unlock seat, slide back back over seat. relock seat. easy.

I done this on my Triumph Tiger and Hypermotard and now on the Strada. Even if it doesn'twork for you, it will give you some ideas of how to maybe acheive the "strapless"look".

Good luck

Wow! Thank you VERY much for that awesome guide and photos!!!! I will do this and report back with how it goes. Thanks again!!!! :):):)
