It's always a bittersweet moment when my shiny new car or motorcycle is replaced by a newer model. But here it is...

New Ducati Hypermotards For 2016

A new certification document from the California Air Resources Board reveals Ducati will introduce a new 937cc engine to its Hypermotard line, replacing the previous 821cc engine. The CARB executive order reveals the engine will be used in three 2016 models: the Hypermotard 939, Hypermotard 939 SP and the touring-oriented Hyperstrada 939.

edit: crap, my title is off by two cc.

That's nice. I'm not too worried about the engine. The 821 already makes plenty of power.

I'm mostly hoping they change the fork and work out some of the quirks of the handling.

Adjustable suspension cruise control more power and skinnier between the legs and I would upgrade in a heartbeat

I'd hate to go through all the recalls again.....so I've decided to ride my Hyper to the end of the warranty period....it's worth little as a trade now given the kilometres done....but is still running really strong :).

I'm thinking of a 2016 multi or even the BMW , by the timne I buy they should have sorted most of the issues.

yeah those are great bikes but but they're bigger and heavier.

I was looking to upgrade to an SP in march next year anyway so i couldn't be more excited about this news!

If it weighs even one pound more than my '13 I would not consider it. I've finally got mine sorted!

They talk about 160 HP in the new Panigale's 959 ???, the 939 could be pretty similar.

I'm pick my new 2015 Hyper up on Friday

So with the new 2016 model change I had to think about continuing with the deal..... But the deal I got on the 2015 and a very generous trade in on mine, plus the fact the new model will probably cost more.... Then the bugs they will have within the first year... I have decided to go ahead.... And in 2 or 3 years the 936 will make a nice upgrade.

The interesting part will be the weight, suspension and fuel range. 821 is a great engine.

Yes, agreed. The 821 is a fantastic motor, so I'm really curious to hear details and then actual riding impressions of the new 937/939.... If they revamped the fork, maybe an eventual upgrade will be in order. I'm in no hurry, mind you.... or, maybe I will just get correct weight fork springs (and preload) and new oil... gotta have something to fuss with this winter..

+1 on springs and oil for next year.
Also at first I thought the seating was too far forward (I have the regular motard) and a seat customization was going to be needed, but strangely I've gotten used to it and it's quite comfy now.
