I'm a returning biker on a budget (retired). I know I can get a Striple below MSRP, not so with the Ducati. Advice please.
Thank you!

L of S....I really like how you think! thinking of upgrading from my vespa scooter to a hyperstrada....what do you think mate? I got a call from my dealer yesterday...my red hyperstrada arrives in Honolulu on Monday. Hope to have it by next weekend. L of S...if you are ever in Honolulu you can take it for a joy ride...just no wheelies on the freeway!

I'm absolutely no help. I traded my 2012 Street Triple R on the HyperStrada. :)

More relaxed ergos on the Hyper, not sure on the power, think the Duc is faster. The STR would rev to 12.5k the Duc's redline is 10.5k and it will get there pretty quick in any gear!

STR came with rear spring to stiff had to change it out, but has adjustable forks.
Duc shock and spring is good, but the forks are firm and no adjustment. Probably is gonna cost me more to fix the forks than it did to fix the shock on the STR.

My girlfriend has a 2013 street triple R, I have ridden some and it is a very nice and super smooth bike. Ergo's are not to bad either but the seat is terrible and the gauges are kinda in a weird position. I has some features with gauges you can scroll through but you can't do it while riding because you have to reach way across the bars and down to the gauges which are mounted low.

Hyper, easy to scroll thru the menus with handlebar controls, seat nice and comfortable.

The Street Triple is nice though overall that engine is just silky smooth.
I haven't ridden either bike enough to comment more that what I just said.

Good luck with your ducati umm I mean your decision.

New to the forum, as I am considering a Hyperstrada myself. Just so happens that I have been riding a Street Triple R for the past 3 years. Very happy with the bike. Aside from local rides, I have traveled some on it, a few 500 mile days in its saddle, even a sprinkle of Interstate when necessity called for it. I'm a small guy, 5'5", 155, so it fits me pretty well. While it can do what I want and need, I am looking for something that can "get me there" with a bit more comfort. Had a couple older Multi's, don't really want the new Multi. I'm hoping the Strada might be just what I'm looking for. My biggest concern in the comparison is that it won't offer any more travel ability than my Street Triple does now. I realize that is not necessarily the criteria any of you are judging by.

I've already gone the route of having a second (or 3rd or 4th) bike, but it always feels like I'm wasting money. In other words, I don't want to add a tourer (just sold an RT). I have yet to demo the Hyperstrada, so I can't make any sort of comparison. As soon as I get the opportunity, I will share my thoughts on the differences and similarities of the two. One obvious difference for me will be the seat height...but nearly everything is tall to me!
