Hi guys, was wondering if any of u guys compared hyper vs tiger 800 as in Asia the price quite closed n i actually like both, any advice? Cheers:)

I have ridden both and can say that if more HPs mean more fun, the Hyper is the bike to buy without any doubts. If you are more concerned with off-road capabilities, the out-of-the-box the Tiger makes more sense. Although with some tinkering, the Hyper can take on some light off road duty pretty well.

I have owned Triumphs, never a Ducati.

The Tiger's stonking three-cylinder motor - widely acclaimed - will undoubtedly give better (read: more exhilarating) performance and acceleration, but in many other important respects there may be relatively little to choose between them.

BUT - and it's an important but - IMHO you will get a far greater sense of that hard-to-define but important 'pride of ownership' thing from the Ducati than you'd get from half a dozen Tigers.

I had a Hyperstrada on order (now cancelled due to excessive waiting time and unfulfilled promises) but wouldn't consider a Tiger as a substitute no matter what the cost comparisons.

My personal viewpoint, of course...

Thanks for the advice, following my heart to go ahead with hyper, really love the look, size n the extras that comes with it, cheers

I have, and had both. I did ride a Tiger 800 and the Hyperstrada back to back, same route. If you want to only commute, and longer distance rides more frequently, with occasional off road stints then the Tiger. However if you have any sporting desires the Hyperstrada is a better bike. Certainly more fun when considering lean factor, and power.
