So... I found out what it's like to be in a motorcycle accident. It sucks!
It happened on my commute home from work on 9/4/15.
I THOUGHT the car ahead of me was slowing down to make a right hand turn at the intersection we were approaching. I was SURE the car intended to turn right. It either started making a move to the right or, had its right turn signal on. I can't remember now; why I was SO sure. As I got closer to the car, I decided to go around it and continue on my way. Well, it was a BIG surprise to me when that car started turning left, not right! I tried to avoid a collision by riding even further to the left but ran out of time. I struck the car's left front bumper. My fault. Lesson learned. I should have waited. I will be patient next time I'm in that (or similar) situation. Thankfully, the driver of the car was not hurt. I ended up with a concussion and severe bruising to my right knee and thigh. God was watching out for me or, it could have gone much worse!
I'm still waiting for a verdict from the insurance adjuster, on whether or not my bike can be fixed. The frame sliders I installed on my bike may have caused the frame to bend. At this point, I think frame sliders can cause more harm than good so, I will not have them on this or, my next bike.
