I'm at a loss here, guys. Having issues with JPDIAG to reset the service minder and TPS on my 2016 939. Here's the situation
  • I have the blue OBD2 cable (which I've used on many bikes prior) and the OBD2 adapter that I had to order from the UK. So I have the 'mechanical' connection to the ECU.
  • I have JPDIAG installed on my Windows machine, and although I'm not certain, I believe I have the right FTDI driver installed. In any case, the blue LED lights up when connected to the bike.
  • I am unable to make the data connection to the bike. I can't even get the cable diagnostic to work out.
  • I tried to register for the JPDIAG forum, but the site is acting glitchy and am unable to do so.
Any sage words of wisdom here?

I bought the Lonelec 3pins adapter with the two alligator clips to use with JPDIAG. But that doesn't work with my 2015 HS 821. Turn out I had to use MelcoDIAG with the odb to 4 pins adapter and that requires a different odb2 reader (ELM 327 compatible). According to the JPDIAG forum, MelcoDIAG is reported to work with the HM 939.

I use win10 with the Lonelec Bluescan 2 bluetooth and the 4 pins. Plug in the odb2 to the bike, ignition to on (don"t need start), pair odb with computer, find the odb COM port # with device manager, start MelcoDIAG as admintrator. select the COM port, connect. Bike vin should show up. Request new license.

I only got service reminder (oil and desmo) to reset. Not sure if TPS reset have to added yet. Good luck.
