Larger OEM screen

pulled the trigger on larger screen today. Dealer had one in stock and I'm hurting for more wind protection.

It's shaped much like Multi's and larger real estate is noticeable when stock screen is held up for comparison. It's slightly tinted - not too dark and visibility is not affected. It doesn't have Duc factory markings or the rolled edge of stocker.

It does come with spare mounting bracket, which Strada owners don't need. Think I paid $192, but not sure if that was before/after 10% discount.

Had a 90 mile ride home and helmet was much calmer. The tint helps hide extra size.

I just picked up my Hyperstrada and trailered it home. I put on the larger screen and it seems to work fine. Sorry i cant do a comparison since i didnt even ride it with the stock screen I also installed the DP tank bag and DP tail rack. I usually just use a tank bag and tail bag for couple day trips and seldom use saddle bags unless it going to be a week long trip. I need to take photos and post them tomorrow

Tall screen

I picked up the taller screen after a few days of commuting. I have a 50 mile ride on I-15 so the wind was a bother. It is better now. The bike should come with the taller screen. It is not that tall compared to many screens. As noted above, it comes with the full kit, as if it is for the motard which I do not need to pay for. I think the best thing to do is just make the taller screne stock on the strada.

I noticed if I tuck my elbows in at hwy speeds the larger screen really shines. I think the stock screen kinds add to *** appeal of stock bike. Larger screen isn't that much taller, but, some guys shopping around are probably turned off by a screen period.

I just did a 100 mile ride this morning. On the highway at speeds of 80 mph the larger windshield didn't cause me any helmet buffeting. I'm only 5-8 so it works for me. I also took the bike on a ride up a mountain to scrub in the tires. Wow the bike handles really well but I agree with others the front end dives way to easily. It will make you go very easy on the front brake. Hopefully someone will make better springs for it. Like progressive suspensions

I put 400+ miles on this weekend with factory screen still and the wind was catching me right in the shoulders. I will add it was very windy here in Texas. The dive some are talking about has not bothered me at all and I did some very hard braking and cornering. I will say I found in the high wind and at speed on the Hwy this thing was a hand full. The front end was all over the place, I guess twitchy might be the word. I think I will be looking for a steering stabilizer. Not for the faint at heart.

I get the high-speed wobble during big gusts. Never felt out of control but might scare a rookie. My shop said stabilizer will definitely fix this.

At 80+ mph I still get helmet buffeting with the larger screen but no wind resistance on my shoulders like I felt with the original one. The larger screen works really well for the typical "around town" speeds of 40-55mph.

I'm not sure yet if I will keep the screen on there full time or just put it on for longer rides, since I like the looks of the small one better.

I am very annoyed at how lose the screen feels. I wish they had used a metal bracket to hold those four screws. Am I being too picky?! Maybe someone will come up with a solution to make that backet more solid...

I know what you're saying about the wobbly bracket. I hope to god that was engineered.

I agree with you guys the stock screen mounting seems a little on the weak side to me. I have been wondering how it will hold up.

you never know. Sometimes there is a lot of large brain's that go into things that wobble. Bikes, especially twins, have a lot of harmonic resonance at speed. As with helicopters, hard mounts aren't always a good solution.

Put mine on yesterday, it does give more protection to upper body area. Not sure I will leave it on for the summer, but for sure it will be good on a trip and cooler weather.

Ok, so im late to the show for this topic. Wanted to add my two cents. I rode with the stock screen for two weeks while I waited for the larger screen to come in. Im 5'11 and with the small screen the wind pulled at my shoulders and upper arms to the point of annoyance. The tall screen directs it higher and over and around my shoulders and arms. The air hits about mid helmet and is tolerable. The taller screen is definitely worth the investment in my opinion.
