So, how far are you guys getting the bike over? I've still got a good half inch of chicken stripes on each side - I just can't get my balls to let me go further :-( The road surfaces aren't great but I just can't get myself to trust the tyres, no reason, just can't. Thoughts?

I've been fairly far over.....about a quarter inch to go on either side. Nothing big or clever about wearing edge to edge.....some of the fastest road riders I know ride old Ducati 900ss's and they go round corners almost upright at speeds I can just about keep up with my 748 fully cranked over!

The Hyper suspension is a bit soft to be treating like a sports bike, but it does corner very well and great fun on our Scottish back roads....especially in the fine weather we're having at the moment!

I'm probably just shy of 1/2" and have felt the rear slip out a couple times over a paver stone crosswalk I hit often. The rear communicates well when slipping and it wasn't very dramatic...

However, it's not the grip stopping me but finding the center stand in a high-speed bender. I mean, it is a sport tourer and I use it for utility as much as enjoyment. Actually, today was the first time I ever lost confidence. I was on a long sweeping right hander and the back end got chattery. I wasn't at ludicrous speed and the bags were light. There was a nasty split seam in the concrete that I had to correct over a couple times but I felt if there were a car behind me it would have noticed the back end hopping around quite a bit. It was windy but I don't think that was a significant factor.

Overall, bike is like a scalpel when handled correctly. I find the looser/lighter I keep my arms/hands/butt, the better it corners. So far, I've only drug a boot tip have way too many low sides under my belt to scar this pretty machine.

I have quarter inch on the back, little more on the front. I agree that I'm more worried about finding the Center stand then loosing the tires but I'm sure this machine will feel better with some Pilot Road 3s. Confidence in you're self and you're machine cant come from any advice but from seat time, get out there and ride!

I probably have about 1/2" before I reach the edge of the rear tire. I am just starting to wear into the embossed scorpion on the edge of the rear tire. I took the center stand off so don't have that to contend with. I got a free track day with the purchase of the Hyperstrada so will be doing that mid August.

Was at a Ducati dealer last weekend and they had a Hyperstrada demo bike with just 4 or 5 mm left on each side.
The gear shifter had just about 1 or 2 mm wear on the bottom. On the brake side I didn't detect any.
The centre stand also didn't have any wear (what I could discover).

Mine is now about 1/2 inch from the side, am about 90 kg. :D

My rear shock is still in the original position. May help to increase the pre-load or height setting?

What happens if you would take a sharp left corner and really shave or hit the gear shifter, would it get out of gear or in false neutral????
