My strada obviously pissed off my car

Since I bought my Hyperstrada my car has basically sat at the end of the driveway while I'm out having fun on the bike, well I guess that pissed off the car...

Seems everytime I start the car now, there's a new issue that appears.. It's almost like the car is sulking because it's jealous or something from not being used. It's becoming increasingly quite annoying.

Now I'll have to rely solely on a bike that some people don't trust, as a reliable transportation platform, because the closest Subaru dealership where I can get parts for my car is about 350 km away. Unfortunately I won't know what's wrong until after I take it apart, find the part numbers I need to perform the repair, then order everything in. Sometimes I hate living in rural areas.

I'm not really sure why I made this thread or what kind of replies I'll see, but what I do know is my 2013 Hyperstrada so far has been an excellent, reliable, economical and seriously fun bike to ride.. Even in the rain, hail, cloudy, cold, windy or shine, I don't regret my decision of going with this bike.

I suppose I just got kinda bummed out seeing all the treads on "electrical problems", "should I have bought another bike", "I have an issue because..." threads appearing here or on Ducati.ms.. That I needed to vent.

PS, I hate spam. I swear all posting from the NY geographical area should be banned.

A little more than 4000 miles on my 2013 Hyperstrada and no issues at all. I replaced the mirrors with bar end mirrors for better visibility removed the bar raiser and swapped the original seat for sportier version that doesn't cram my nuts into the tank. These few tweaks and its both comfy to ride and awesome fun.

i got 2300km on my bike now and it is the most fun i have had on a bike. i find every time I'm on it tho i ride like a hooligan lol

^^^ it is... stock.. Unfortunately once you start adding aftermarket parts into the equation reliability can go out the window. I'm just glad that the only part that appears to have broken was a ruptured coolant hose, so as a temporary fix I bought some universal coolant hose while I wait for Subaru to order in the proper form fitted assembly.

Oh man I know that story oh so well. Having owned many a modified car over the years I know that the more the tinkering starts the more the niggles come along to haunt you...

Still, we do it for the love, right?!

Here's one of my beauties I built especially to tackle the Nürburgring (edit - looking at those pictures god damn I miss heel & toe downshifting that revvy beast of an engine. Nostalgia central right there):

if it ain't broke, fix it til it is. Good philosophy when $$$ and time are abundant.

I have a Saab 9-5 Aero, tuned ecu, cat back exhaust, lowered suspension.

it's backup transportation.

Just remember, you have no backup now.

One time my car broke. I didn't fix it right away. Then the bike tire got punctured. Suddenly I had time to get them fixed.

working on cars is deff a love hate thing. love putting the new parts on that make it look nicer and go faster, hate fixing the stuff that breaks.

i have a 1970 chevy C10 short box with a 383 LT1 and 6speed. it puts out 500hp on motor and has a single shot of nitrous right around the 200hp mark.

Jokeshopbeard....good to see you are into building cars....here's a little something I put together 15 years ago. It's a Birkin from South Africa, with a Toyota 4age and a Ford T9 5 speed. It's a Lotus 7 clone...not unlike a Caterham :)

uploadfromtaptalk1435454987359.jpg not mine. I saw this car the other day. thought I'd share in our car thread. If you're looking for a way to get your car on 26's.

Always wanted to put something together from scratch like your Birkin Aussie. Saw an Ultima GTR at the bottom of my road the other day. Now that is a kit I'd love to build:

Just watch out.. It's either the car or bike will get mad at you and protest.. Lol

Jokeshopbeard,
Yep the Ultima is a pretty hot piece of kit....but I've had three 7s and just love them. There very surgical in application....very much like a bike. I will say it that my Birkin was quicker through the twisty bits that 80% of bikes, it was only in the straights where we were spanked....here's a little vid :)
