Hello, I just purchased a 2014 Hyperstrada "demo" with 850 miles. I started riding when I was a kid, roadraced in the southeast U.S. in the 80s, and have been riding street bikes ever since. I have owned sport bikes and Harleys, look forward to owning my first Ducati.

Thanks, RAT

If another street bike is what you are after, congrats! If you want a real dual sport the best advice I can offer based on my ownership experience is to take it back and get a Triumph Tiger. The Hyperstrada is a bit of a plastic princess & not very off road worthy.

Either way, it is a fun bike ;)

Welcome, jrat. I've had a lot of bikes over the last 50 years (5 in the garage right now), and the Strada is one of the most fun bikes I've owned. My only complaint is how Ducati tends to put style before function. The lack of splash protection is one example. I recommend a radiator guard, too.

Although I've run it on some dirt roads, it's not a dual-sport, or even an ADV bike. Personally, I don't think any bike heavier that 300 pounds is truly dirt-worthy!

Thanks for the warm welcome. I am not really looking at using it in the dirt. I will probably put a set of Michelin PR4s on it pretty soon after I pick it up this weekend. I was wondering what I was going to name it, I kind of like "Plastic Princess". It will be right at home next to the "Rattracker"
