New to the Strada family and would love some input/advice.

Hi Everyone

I just purchased a brand new 2013 Hyperstrada...yes 2013 it was a double back stock. I traded my 1985 Honda Shadow 1100 for it and I got a screaming deal on it...$10,500 with a 5 year wheel and tire hazard guarantee, tax and everything! (only 8 miles on the clock)

Just wondering what I should expect from the bike as far as maintenance, updates, nagging issues across the model board and finally any factory updates or changes.

I'd love to get some input and meet some fellow Ducatisti's around the New England area!

The ECU should have been updated prior to your taking possession. The updates took care of some early fueling issues. Other than that, enjoy. The first service comes up quickly at 600 mi.
 
I figured it would be, I haven't picked up the bike yet. It wont be ready till next week. I also asked about that throttle APS sensor to be inspected too because I've read people having issues with that.

I'm just worried about my bike going into Limp Mode. Ive heard that could happen to 2013's.....so if it happens to mine.....that'd suck.

Do you think they're aware of that situation? If so is there a corrective measure for it?

do'nt worry about that, just drive it. only a small amount of bikes is affected, why should it be yours ? and if, you have guarantee.
 
I know man...but I have a penchant for bad luck....fingers are crossed!
 
Damn, $10,500 out the door or plus tax and all that garbage? What did they give you on the trade in?

I had that issue on the road twice... But then it disappeared... No problems since I passed 200 miles mark. Great bike!!! BTW, I got mine for 10750 :) + tax... Still not a bad deal either!
 
It was actually $9981.21 which includes all taxes, title, doc fee and reg fee. This also includes the $1,900 for my trade (1985 Honda VT1100 Shadow). I opted in for the 5 year wheel and tire warranty which includes road side service if I have a tire blow out + road hazards and covers all wheel and tire related issues that doesn't have to do with normal wear and tear. The price on it was $600 but she gave me a $50 discount on it so why not. I think I got a great deal so I couldn't pass it up

Just wondering did you get the ECU update and then still had those issues?

I spoke to the service manager at the dealer I got it from and they said that until something actually happens they can't really do anything except update the ecu. If something does happen then they'll take care of whatever the issues are. I told him about the issue with the APS sensor and supposedly this newest update is supposed to fix that.
 
I think so lets just hope I didn't buy a disco ball edition....I was online and saw someone who had the whole dash, ecu etc etc changed and then it happened again....
